I came here from a BFME1 torrent I found that I later discovered was created by Forshire. So I mean yea, it wasn't easy for me to figure anything out but I've come to the point where I can successfully install RotWK from scratch so I think I've improved my computer skills :3

Feedback:

T3Aonline.net isn't very easy to navigate. It should be easier to find the Maps and Mods and Guide pages from there, because if you're clicking links from the starting website you just cannot find it.

Revora has way to many subforums, and it's really complicated. The number of times I've looked for that BFME1/BFME2/RotWK install thread and failed to find it is insane (I've installed RotWK 4 times for different people)

You guys don't brag enough. For the site to become bigger, you have to brag and encourage people to come here. I know Mathijs has something against bragging, but come on. You've got good service.

It's way too hard for people with no experience to install the BFME games. Before that mega thread was posted I couldn't do it for the life of me, and constantly saying "Use DAEMON Tools" didn't help. That software is SHIT. Update those threads and replace it with Alcohol 52%.

On T3A, update the BFME game install guides to that thread I spoke of before. It's much better written, and the patches are a lot more automatic there.

Get your own RotWK servers. Gameranger is shit and a lot of people simply can't use it because it bugs out on their system (like me).

Your https://forums.revor.../page-1 guide'sCD crack is a virus. VirusTotal says it's a virus, MalwareBytes says it's a virus, Google Chrome doesn't let you download it, and, it is also a Virus if you open it up. You should directly link key copies.

No good things?  Wonderful.  I'm going to make your font RED because it's ANGRY.

T3Aonline.net isn't very easy to navigate. It should be easier to find the Maps and Mods and Guide pages from there, because if you're clicking links from the starting website you just cannot find it.

-Do we even have mods / maps at t3aonline.net?

Revora has way to many subforums, and it's really complicated. The number of times I've looked for that BFME1/BFME2/RotWK install thread and failed to find it is insane (I've installed RotWK 4 times for different people)

-How would you suggest the sub-forums be handled?  We do have a lot of content in all of divisions, and all of those sections are quite tricky to organize.  Our current format is a product of years of reshuffling.

You guys don't brag enough. For the site to become bigger, you have to brag and encourage people to come here. I know Mathijs has something against bragging, but come on. You've got good service.

-WE'RE AWESOME.  There.  But I think you're confusing advertising for bragging.

It's way too hard for people with no experience to install the BFME games. Before that mega thread was posted I couldn't do it for the life of me, and constantly saying "Use DAEMON Tools" didn't help. That software is SHIT. Update those threads and replace it with Alcohol 52%.

-I do agree that the stuff is hard to install.  Then again, I'm dumb, but I do think we've already put every thought into making it as simple as possible.  You can always outline a plan for that if you think we're missing better opportunities.

On T3A, update the BFME game install guides to that thread I spoke of before. It's much better written, and the patches are a lot more automatic there.

-That's do'able.

Get your own RotWK servers. Gameranger is shit and a lot of people simply can't use it because it bugs out on their system (like me).

-It's COMING SOON.  OoOoOo...  Yea, we know.

Your https://forums.revora.net/topic/105190-bfme1bfme2rotwk-games-download-installation-guide/page-1 guide'sCD crack is a virus. VirusTotal says it's a virus, MalwareBytes says it's a virus, Google Chrome doesn't let you download it, and, it is also a Virus if you open it up. You should directly link key copies.

-(edit: woops.  Misread the lines) It doesn't have a virus warning for me.  Then again, chrome thought Douglas Adam's wikipedia page was a virus last month, so I wouldn't trust it too much.  Dunno what to tell you there.

Thanks for the feedback, Before.  I'll let the cavalry look it over and have a chat with T3A about these issues later on.

Both the game.dat and the mini-image are clean. As for the keygen, just ignore - antivirus programs know what it really is, so they flag it for legal reasons, not for it being unsafe for the computer itself, which it isn't.

Just paste some CD codes on the thread, because it's sketchy as all hell and I still think it is a virus, because Malwarebytes tries to delete random files after you run it..

But do you deny that I'm a user of the site? If I think it's a virus, then I must speak on behalf of some portion of the users.

Anyways, yes there is a lot of positive feedback that I didn't include but this was my Feedback/suggestions on what was wrong.

And Pasidon I'll dig up the T3Aonline maps and guides. I'd like your post but I keep hitting my quota :D

o shit waddup they're different websites o_O

https://www.the3rdage.net/

https://t3aonline.net/

They should link to eachother more easily then, the3rd age has the mods, the maps and the tutorials that I was thinking about but could never find before.

Oh, they ARE different sites.  I never noticed that.  That does seem silly, don't it?

Considering that they're serving entirely different purposes, no, doesn't seem silly to me. But yes, there could be clearer crossover links.

Anyway - the keygen is not a virus. This isn't a matter of opinion. It causes false flags, nothing more.

Okay I believe you, but can you just add keys to the thread too? Attach the keygen at the bottom and leave a warning that it claims to be a virus, but your assurance that is in fact not one.

You speak on the behalf of very gullible people, then.

You believe him, but say his assurance is not enough? :p

Do a little reading on the definition of a false positive (type I error): https://en.wikipedia...rrors#Computers

If you want a key outside the keygen, Google it and stop mewling.

I'm suggesting that you add the keys to the thread. This is a feedback forum, isn't it?

We're not going to add a hundred or more keys to the thread. It's messy, and there's no way to check which have been used, which will then lead to people trying the first few and complaining they're already in use.

I'll add an additional notification saying the keygen is perfectly safe, though.

No no no! You've got it all wrong!

The Rise of the Witch king keys can be reused

You can link THESE two VIDEOS for BFME2 keys

And if you'd like I can make a similar video for BFME1 key codes too

And if you'd like you don't even have to replace it with the keygen, just have a "spoiler" underneath saying "Don't want to download a keygen? Here's some free keys" and then link those

Thanks for giving feedback.

Please, if you also provide ideas on how to improve things exactly from your point of view rather than just saying xy is not good - would be much appreciated.

I don't mind embedding the videos, but for all 3 games preferable - if there are ~1e6 (preferably even more) keys the chance of getting the same twice is small enough.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

So I've talked to my friend about the videos, he said he can get over 3k codes for each game all in the same video. He'll upload it later tonight and I'll link it to you.

My personal suggestion on improving that thread would be to:

Replace all instances of "Daemon tools" with "Alcohol 52%"

Include Foreshire's (I know) fixer for Windows 7 (BFME1, 2 and 3 all crash on startup because it fails to create a file)

For each game, when it mentions "if you need a key, see the bottom of the thread", then have a layout like this:

Spoiler

On T3AOnline.net make a link that says "Maps, Guides and more Downloads" that sends you to The3rdAge.net

As for the forums just combine the T3A Hosting Services & Support and T3A:Online Support and Talk subforums.

Can't do that. They serve entirely different purposes. The former is for The3rdAge.net hostee support, the latter for online services.

Now, whether or not the former is even needed in this day and age is another matter. I like the other suggestions, but I'll leave the final decision to ICT or RoR.
