I'm quite interested in the Risen Carrion. From the description provided, and the abilities, it sounds like it will be similar to the mummies from Age of Mythology.

Any chance we could hear more about this unit?

Oooo those guys were cool! I liked how the special abilities of the Mythological and hero units of that game were auto-activated.

This mod looks absolutely amazing. Probably the best I have ever seen. I don't know if there would be any interest in this, but I started a faction plan for Harad some time ago and just thought I would post it here in case there are any ideas that the team likes. It is far from a complete layout and it draws heavily on the Games Workshop material. I would be honored if any of these ideas ended up being used in this great looking mod. I would appreciate any feedback on the ideas that I post.

Heroes

Kushak-Muhad

A chieftain of of the Muhad of Far Harad.

Dalamir, the Fleetmaster of Umbar

After the raid on Umbar by Thorongil (aka Aragorn), the Corsairs began to rebuild their war-fleet. One man rose to  prominence during this action, his name was Dalamir. He was one of the few left in Umbar that was of nearly pure Gondorian blood. His family being one of those exiled to Umbar during the years of kin-strife in Gondor. Dalamir hates the men of Gondor and detains them as lesser men because of their intermarriage with the northmen of Rhovanion. As Fleetmaster, Dalamir is responsible for the massing the Black Fleet of Umbar for attacks of the coast of Gondor.

Suladan, the Serpent Lord

A powerful warlord, Suladan has united many of the Haradrim tribes and claimed the title of Serpent Lord. Suladan bares a hatred for the men of Gondor. Suladan’s father was killed when he rode to war against dunedain of the South. However, it is against the horsemen of Rohan that he seeks vengeance, for when word of his father’s death was brought back by the survivors of the battle, they told of fury of the northmen who rode to Gondor’s aid. It was by just such a warrior that Suladan’s father was cut down. Now Suladan rides at the head of the Serpent Host, allied with the Dark Lord in an effort to avenge his father’s death and lay waste to lands of his enemies.

The Golden King of Abrakhan

In ages past the last king of great Numenor, Ar Pharazon the Golden, sailed from his island kingdom with a powerful armada to punish Sauron for claiming Lordship over Middle Earth. He landed at Umbar and defeated Sauron, taking him, as a prisoner, back to Numenor. It is said by some that, while in Umbar, Ar Pharazon took a beautiful Haradrim princess as a concubine and left her with child. It is from the child of the union that the King of Abrakhan claims descent. Ages have past and it is thus impossible for any to prove or disprove his claim, but that matters little. Though it has been whispered that he has lived far longer than is common for men of the South. The Golden King now rules the rich trade city of Abrakhan with an iron fist, and pays tribute to the Dark Lord of Mordor. No one know the true extent of the Golden King’s ambition, for he conceals is just as he conceals his face behind a golden mask.

The Betrayer (Nazgul)

The Betrayer was once the king of the city of Karna. Wishing for respect and to expand his control he accepted a gift from a dark, mysterious stranger who had promised it would bring him untold power. After some time the people of Karna became unsettled by reports of bands of orcs moving at will through the land and great caravans of riches and slaves sent north to the Black Land by the order of the king. Furthermore, trade, that had always been important, began to dwindle and even the springs the supplied the city with its precious water began to dry up. Soon the armies of Abrakhan were being sent into the neighboring kingdoms, along with the hordes of orcs, to pillage and slaughter. Any who dared to question the king about these things were never heard from again. As years went by, the city began to fall and the people decided that the time had come to end the reign of the king. They stormed the palace, slew the guards, and at last confronted the the king himself. Many were killed by his blade but at last they brought him down. On his knees before those who overthrew him, a grim smile crept across his face. He raised his hand and upon it was set one of the nine rings of power given to the kings of men. Even as one of the men brought his scimitar down to slay the king, the power of the ring was unleashed and the whole city was laid waste. Ever after the ruins of Karna have been haunted by the souls of the restless dead slain by the power of the ring. As for the king, now one of the “Nine”, he is remembered only as the Betrayer, for he had betrayed his city and his people and handed over the Southlands to the domination of the Dark Lord of Mordor. Now the Betrayer has been sent by Sauron back to the lands of the South to enforce his dark will on the Haradrim and ensure that none oppose him.

The Knight of Umbar (Nazgul)

Once the Numenorean governor of the Port of Umbar, the Knight of Umbar, like many Numenoreans of his day feared death and cursed the “gift” of mortality. As he began to grow old he began a desperate search for the means to defeat death. Leaving Umbar, he set off to the east. Long he traveled through the unknown land of the east and south, talking to sages and philosophers, magicians and mad men, but always the Knight could feel old age creeping through his body. Finally, in despair, he turned back, but became lost in eastern reaches of the Mountains of Shadow. It was here that he came across a mysterious traveler robed in black. The stranger seemed to know who the Knight was and what he sought, though when asked he would say nothing of his own identity. The stranger presented the Knight with a ring and told him that it would be his key to immortality. In his despair, the Knight took it, though he did not believe that such a simple trinket could hold the power he sought. Little did he know that in his search to defeat death he would become a slave to it. Returning to Umbar, the Knight ruled with a cruel will and all feared him, until Elendil and his sons returned to Middle Earth and Umbar was conquered by the men of Gondor. The Knight was driven out into the desert and all thought that was his end. But a Nazgul cannot be killed that easy and the Knight of Umbar has returned once more to lead the forces of Umbar against the West by the will of Sauron.

Turin, personally I like your post and I hope that the developers will find many interesting stuff from it for making this faction. Therefore it could be used also as a future plan that could be implemented in Edain :D

Hello¡ i know that this faction will be the last to be finished but maybe you have some ideas about the models, so this is my question, the numenorean units are going to be similar to the ones that we can see in Angmar in the HD Edition or the will have some eastern influence in the design?? thank you for your answer :)

They'll probably look different from what I did for the HD Edition. But I have no real conception of them yet.

You could check out this guy on Deviant Art

https://turnermohan....rt.com/gallery/

He has some really cool stuff, all based on historical armor and very similar in style to John Howe, the lead artist in the creation of the LOTR movies.

He has some numenórean armors that looks really cool

I'm a huge fan of this faction! Only slightly because I have a huge GW Haradwaith army myself.

Would you mind elaborating more on the Trade Caravan? Because now it sounds like the Resource building is just static and the player is forced to recruit something moveable to walk to their armies before upgrading them. This feels like only a slight upgrade from the system in BOTTA (where you can only upgrade units in a slight radius around the Armoury).

When I initially read the introduction to this faction I immediatly thought about the Night Elves from Warcraft 3. I don't know how familiar you are with this game, but they have the option to let their buildings walk (like actual creatures) should they want to. This obviously pauzes recruitment etc. Could this be an option here?

Even if it would only be the resource buildings (essentially making them resource creatures) would be hella fun. Walking away from a harassing troll etc.

Keep up the great work!

Greetings

I didn't know where write this... but just a question

Is anyone possibility to include the 2 blue wizards?, Pallando and Alatar?
Tolkien never said exactly what happen with them, only that "they never returned from their mission when they went to the east", so... you can make them bad, for example, they were engaged in dark cults or something. And you can put them in this faction like a one power or hero. This would mean more characters created by Tolkien and the freedom to invent new and fantastic powers.

What do you think?

Hi! If Suladan will be similar to Salahuddin, I think maybe you can get some inspiration for Kathuphazgán from Alauddin Khilji's character from the movie 'Padmaavat'. Alauddin Khliji was a cruel and megalomaniac sultan of the Delhi Sultanate (something pre-Mughal Empire). Although it is a recent movie so I don't know what about the copyrights and I haven't too much reference picture about him.

I like the ideas posted for the Betrayer and Knight of Umbar.

It would be great and thematic to see some of the other Nazgul spread across the Evil Men factions, showing Sauron's Influence upon them during the 3rd Age.

I love this army plan! Plenty of interesting ideas! Where did you get the Non-LotR ideas for Harad, if I may ask?

@Mathijs i found the new design for immortals in AC Odyssey very interesting, maybe you could use it for this faction!?

It's only a suggestion but i think this is a good fitting model. so badass in particular that mask!

I was thinking that Kathuphazgân or Burôdapân can be switched for another (non canon) black numenorian, with interesting potential abilities and maybe a bit more expensive (2000?); Agandaûr. I dont know if you havent cosidered him yet or you just didnt like the character.

The duumvirate is more canon than Agandaur from WitN. Their names are translated into Anduinic, from two names that Namo suggested for the Special Extended Edition mod (Namo is an old lore-master that used to be here).
