I don't know if anyone else has been thinking about this or anything, but I think the old walls from BFME should come back, just not as pre-built. There is a mod that had done this with the base game of BFME II but that adds a few (in my opinion) ridiculous things including gunpowder based units and cannon defences. I think it would be super cool to see bigger walls come back and actually be able to man them with your units, while this might make it a little unbalanced towards the Evil factions, their battle towers could be a little stronger or be able to use palisades or something maybe. An increase of health slightly would also be cool, just because a thick wall isn't going to drop in just a couple of hits, maybe able to take 6 hits from a trebuchet or something, I don't know, it would just be super cool to see these return.

But they are terrible to build when you're playing the game. You can only build them in one direction.

I think in the end having walkable walls in RotWK is just too clunky. We're very unlikely to do it.

That is not a bad idea, you can do it like this, weak walls and also to able build new walls a little bit different but stronger (normal walls, and if that faction have them). In such a way you can create a better and bigger city, and like this would be more dificult to defeat your enemy, and like this could be more entertaining.

I'm not one to bring old things back up, but I was checking out a video on the Erebor faction that came out today and just had a thought, is it possible to make it so units can "Enter" walls and stand on it like a tower?

Ok...sorry for necroing this topic...

 

It seems that Lothlorien has a battle tower that shows visible units shooting from a platform... there is no way too make 3 segmented wall into a wall platform that acts like a "tower"?

 

And even if there is problems with entry and exit of units for some reason, why not make 2 "towers" side by side upon the wall platform so units can enter and exit from both side of the wall?

 

And if the thing is looking clunky, don't make them big and clunky, just make them as wide and lengthy as Isengard wall gate.
