The results of Speeder's poll are in. The question is: is it going to influence the direction of MO's development in any way?

BTW, I was wondering, maybe there should be a "Questions that don't deserve their own thread" thread pinned for short, simple inquiries like this.

Singleplayer is good to focus on.

This just reminds me of an exchange I had like, over a year ago, where someone was adamantly convinced that the game's main draw-in was its multiplayer. Like yeah, the multiplayer deffo does have a big draw in for a lot of people, but when you consider that Mental Omega's biggest advertising moments were about "Hey, we have a campaign with the Allies, Soviets, and Yuri!", as well as "Hey, we have a brand new fourth side, and they also have a set of single player missions!", it's kinda obvious what kind of environment Mental Omega was trying to cultivate- one that focused on telling a story, with the added effect of attempting to have a balanced multiplayer.

That being said, I don't think it's going to influence development in any way. Even after the poll's results, Speeder himself said he figured it would turn out like this- which means he already knew that single player was the most prominent thing on people's minds.

The probable reason why they thought that is because the MO campaigns (2.0 and to 3.0) were schizophrenically hard for them to beat. So they jumped into multiplayer/skirmish and enjoyed it more than the campaigns. I should know. I am among that class of people. But the MO dev team had a goal in mind to create/maximize/flesh out/improve the campaigns of the three factions. The fourth faction was unexpected but a welcome addition. It is the perfect foil for Yuri's faction. Great Devourer makes the superior numbers of Yuri (Epsilon) both Mind Controlled and Cloned into cash that funds their pricey but elite forces.
