Yeah if you get contacts wet don't they like swell up?

I dove into a swimming baths with my GLASSES on :p

But yes indeed, you're not supposed to immerse them in tap water or in swimmingpool water. It's nothing to do with swelling up, it's because masses of bacteria and chemicals which congregate on them, and can't be blinked away as they normally would because the lens is on your eyeball.
- Bacterial infection and calcification/fluoridation of the cornea were the reasons that huge hullaballoo came over about people going blind. They used tap water, which isn't 100% pure water, and it's been treated with so many chemicals.
You have to keep them soaked in a special saline solution when they're not in your eyes. This keeps them bacteria-free and moist. In your eye, your eye's own defences keep them clean and moist.

If you're in really baking heat in a really dry atmosphere, it can get a bit stingy if your eyes dry out, but contact lenses make you utterly invincible in a stare-out competition

Most contacts, you're not supposed to sleep with them in. Not sure why that is. I can close my eyes, and I don't feel their presence. I don't imagine I would in my sleep either...

lol

My dad usually swims with his glasses on (unless he plans to go swim underwater), else he can't see much . He has this string attatched to it and around his neck and of course it's funny (also annoying for him, makes you panicky as the next person will go off the slide in some moments..) when after he's been on a slide his glasses end up somewhere on the bottom of the swimming pool :p.

I don't know why you shouldn't wear contacts in your sleep, maybe they think it's not good for your eyes to have them on 24 hours? Or when your eyes are closed for a time.

Yeah :p. Must've been funny . I always take mine off. Which, in public swimming pools, requires me to ask someone else to look at the clock hanging there as I can't see it properly :p. That can be kind of annoying sometimes :p. In our own pool it doesn't really matter much as for one we don't have a clock floating in the air and two it's not that huge :p.

EDIT Wow there's a lot of : p smileys in there o_O lol.

I hate it when the ------- institute fails to inform you that your exam was at a different ------- time and room than normal. An earlier time, so I just ------- failed the entire subject because I didn't show up ------- two hours early at the wrong campus.

Submit and appeal, stating that they're incompetency was the reason behind you not showing up. They'll arrange a re-sit right?
