Petroglyph today released a plugin for 3DS Max versions 7 and 8 that will allow all the budding modellers out there to use 3DS Max to create all their new work. Unfortunately this is not officially supported by Petroglyph, but if you have any problems you can post on our forums and we'll try to help. You can grab the Plugin from our downloads section.

nice job on Petro's side, hopefully that'll tickle EA and encourage them to release something similar for the SAGE Engine :excl:

for some reason it doesnt work in 3ds max 7 :| only in 6 and 8 XD

I thought I can import .alo files too... how can that help me? I can't edit alo files as said, I can only add more! I thought the point is that you can have EAW models, and not to build models for EAW.

I can't make models it's too hard for me and after I download 3ds max 8 (I only downloaded it because of the plug-in...) I thought my life is gonna change cause I got the panda exporter which allows me to export to .X file and then to show in in GCII (strategy game that can only read .X file foramt) and to have the exture and all but it seems to be all a dream...

so real question:

-can you make an "Import plug-in" for the real "edit" thing

i have a dodgy one that isnt very reliable....

But nah technically no. And dont use them.

Learn to model from scratch ;)
