Uninstall our mod and then reinstall it again. Otherwise, no clue my friend. Do you see the 1.9 shortcut on your desktop, do a properties on it and its pointing correctly to the dowai mod? Check your /<dow main folder>/dowai_mod - everything looks fine in there?

I will try that. matter in fact i just started the instalation right before you saifd that and it said i had another version of it installed so i uninstalled it. that might help.

Darn. The progRAM IS installed but it wornt play the mod. it just plays the Dow game. I checked the propertise and it said it was playing off of an icon called W40kWA. Warhammer 40k Winter Asssut. that isn't right, that means it is playing off of Dawn of WAr and is actually playing DAwn of war only. What should the target be and where is the target?

When you reinstall it it should provide the desktop shortcut for you. Are you sure its not up there? It has to be. The target should be the W40kWA.exe file in the root of your Dawn of war Folder. Yer running v1.50 or higher of the game, right?

Yes there is an icon for DowAI mod, yes i am runnning 1.50, and yes the target is W40KWA.exe. I did reinstal the program and delete the previous versions multiple times. Then when it brought up the start menu i went to mod manager and went back to the original DOWWA , then activated the Dow Ai mod from there. I then turned down all the settings to low and set up a skirmish on a 1v1 original map. When i played, the increaced build, and capture rates wern't in affect and the enemy AI seemed to be playing at its basic level. Does this help you at all?

Im using standard difficulty and yes it does say the DowAi mod is enabledin the top left corner

Try HARD and up. Standard has reduced AI tech speeds..

Try HARD and up. Standard has reduced AI tech speeds..

Wait, does Dow AI skirmish have auto renforce? or sped up capture times?

Uhhmmm.. Auto-Reinforce? Explain? Yer not using this mod with another, are you? Yer not supposed to. Sounds like you are..

Some observations :

1. Defending squads often try to move to a certain defense point regardless wether they have to move through enemy squads and get killed. I observed full squads of CM getting annihilated because they seemed to have a move command, not attack move. They were defending their HQ, there was no need to walk past the enemy.
Same with allied squads trying to defend a friends hq. They did not care where the enemy was located and moved too far, getting killed one squad after another instead of defending the friendly hq.

Note that there was NO need for this. They passed the friendly hq on their way to the enemy but didn't stop, just ran into them with their full supplement of HB :-(


2. I observed a broken orks squad starting to cap. They had capped about 10% while getting under fire again. They did not stop and flee but decided to cap some more until all 7 of them were killed.

3. There should be NO forward capturing, just decapping done by an ally trying to rescue an allied hq. He is taking away points from his friend and should better use all squads to fend of the threat.

4. I observed a defender trying to preserve troops in safety though his hq was in process of getting annihilated. He saved some troops but had to quit nevertheless as he had no production building left. Saving defenders is a good idea but they should be committed in very desperate live or die situations.

5. I observed an ally trying to defend a friends hq (A). He was already there when another friends base (B) was under attack too. He aborted his help for A to move across the battlefield to help B, failing to do any good at all.

Marmot, i believe youre thinking of th Heroes mod which has the auto reinforce and increased build times, Skirmish doesnt have any funky changes like that. just dont turn that on and it could be better. but im no expert.

Holy crap i think you are right. OMG it all makes sence now! i had the Heroes mod on too... ok. Sweet. So you said that Skirmish mod is designed for HARD and up Thudo? Will it only work with HARD and up?

Ever since ive got the DoW game when it first came out the battles were perfect, but then the patches started messing with gameplay and I had to uninstall it several times because it got boring,the sveral months ago I found your mod and Installed it I LOVE IT,ever since Ive been engoying it and now is when I found you forums,you guys are doing good jod with the mod I hope you come with another one when Dark Crusade when it comes out.

Yes, sorry! :shiftee: I was away half of the week and also have to learn on exams at the moment. Therefore I'm a bit lazy with posting at the moment. I'll be probably not very active coding-wise until the end of my exams at 6. oct.

DC comes out in between Sept 15-25th.. So rest up my friend..

I get a feeling as the expansion arrives you'll be checking it out to see all the new AI function calls and logic. Hoping for a VERY early Christmas gift! :shiftee:

Quick question for a noob, I just purchased the game. I have winter assault etc... I do not know if I have version 1.50 for winter assault as I can not find the patch on google.

Well when I play the game it stops the game and gives me an error message after two or so minutes. Something about a .DMP file

My system specs are 3800+ X2/1900XTX/2gb ram so I do not think it is an issue with LOD or capibility with my pc. Anyone have any thoughts?
