it's time to finally make the announcement and reveal something of our mod.
At this very moment we also open question, idea, screenshot and techtree topics where you are all invited to post and comment on our work or make suggestions. The news forum here is active but since the design of the news on the page has not been done yet, there won't be too much to read there.
However, I've uploaded many new screenshots and also the renders you can see here in the screenshots topic.
So, enough of the intro talk and let's focus on the more important things.
About the Mod:
As you can see from the name, BFME+, this mod is an add-on for BFME, including lots of new stuff like units, heroes, buildings and so on. Besides there will be some general changements to the game.
The main part of this mod is about the four mini-factions, one per original faction. To be able to use that minifaction, we changed hwo the outpost system works: Instead of just unpacking the outpost, you can choose between two different outposts: the normal one, which just includes a citadel of your main faction and three buildplots and the minifaction oupost where you get a minifaction citadel, three minifaction buildplots and some defense possibilities.
And because this wasn't enough, we also decided to increase the number of buildings that are available at the economy plot (the one where you build lumbermills or so):
That's why we thought that it would be nice to have mini-subfactions (or "mini-minifactions") there. These are actually just one building where you can buy units, heroes and maybe upgrades aswell. You can find the list of these in the techtree topic.
This mod was started as a one-man-fun-project by Nightmare (N19HtmAr3), and after we both had a break of BFME1 modding, we decided to work on it again, but of course increasing it's size.
At the moment, Nightmare's the "art guy", doing modelling, skinning and rendering. You cand find some of his amazing work in the screenshots topic.
I myself am covering the coding part and improving/maintaining the site.
And as a cool plus, cahik joined the mod team recently as another art guy. Of course we are very proud to have his steadily increasing and amazing talent with us. Atm, you can see his Dain and Brand renders in the screenshots topic.
The mod is making good overall progress at the moment, and many things have already been done, but there are many things remaining too. So please don't ask for a release date, we just can't tell you yet.
Have a very nice day,
Dark Lord of the Sith
