any thoughts about what will happen now? will the democrats totally pwn the republicans now? will michael j. fox get his cure for parkinson? or will the republicans turn the election around with some good old fashioned holier than thou speeches?

If I didn't had friends who live in the US and if I didn't care for people on middle western, I'd say "go republicans"! It's because I have to admit that Bush external politics allowed the latin american countries to grow and he even failed with FTAA (which would be a suicide deal to Brazil, due to the copyrighted stuff of the deal). Bush was an inspiration for left wing people from all around the latin america countries to get into power, since the neoliberal economic model he defends was in crisis due to his own incompetence.

But I have friends who live in USA and what's happening with Iraq, what happened with Lebanon and all the wars that happened on that region... definitelly sucked for the people who live there. Bush spend trillions with that war, screwed his own economy (although it was so damn strong that it is still strong after all he did, but the value of the dollar dropped considerably everywhere). Meh... go democrats!

You do bring up an interesting point.....it has the same effect here in Canada. The longer Bush and the republicans control the government, and the more they screws up, the lower the support is for Prime Minister Harper and his right wing government!

When I think of it this way, go Republicans! :D

Democrats are centrists. America has no even partially successful left wing party.

and now it seems that the republicans are so desperate that they start sending messages to people's phones.

i don't see how this could be democracy if all you do is spend most money to throw dirt at the other politicians. those money could be used to give people a better life, instead its wasted on stuff that is totally avoidable. it would have been fancy if someone put in a retroactive law or something that says 50% of all money used in political commercial has to be paid in taxes. and for every year another 5% would have been added until its up a 95% :p

We don't have any really successful right wing party either.

It will never go completely down the drain for him.

The Democrats control the house, it appears the Republicans will keep the Senate.

I was happy to see Leiberman won. He's a great moderate senator. I'm so hoping for a John McCain win for 2008 Presidental bid.

Funny thing to consider if democrats win both houses is they talked all that shit about finding a new solution for Iraq, if they don't they will have thier own credibility issues in 2008 elections.

And also Bye Rummy...

All this means is we're going to have even greater political deadlock in Washington. It'll be like ping pong with bills.

Apparently this won’t be a problem for president Bush because he is the great “uniter” and could work easily with bipartisanship…or so he titled himself in the 2000 elections. Seriously though I hope the neocon enema in Washington DC has cleansed our government and has sent a message to Bush that he needs to work with America instead of just his political allies.

then again, after what i've gathered in the news the foreign politics is still in the government's hands. whatever happens there will still pretty much be the responsibility of the republicans, and if the democrats makes sure that the money keeps on flowing to the system they would have their hands clean.
