To expand on Gambit..

1) Create a text file in your Soulstorm main folder

2) Call it autoexec.lua

3) Open it as a text file and add and save this in:

Spoiler
Hit F5 for the AI to control YOU or the faction you are currently watching or F6 to go back to your own control.

Note the main sections right at the top where it auto-runs with all AI control, game speed is an insane 100 rate, and whole map is revealed. This is what we use for pure AI testing.

Sometimes, though, you need to disabled the AI to test your faction in your troubleshooting hence the option to disable AI also in those other bindings.

Thud, I was also using the playai() and playhuman(), but I suggest you should replace them both, with the switch_player_control() I wrote in the previous page, because:

1] It's simpler, using ONLY ONE button for both operations. Toggling is a far better approach, just as brother requested.

2] No more console warnings, in case you accidentally press the wrong button.

After all, if the current player is AI, you will want to play it yourself. And if you are playing it yourself, you will want the AI to take over. :thumbsupcool:

Try it, for me the two other functions are history.

I've taken care of that.

For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Using the Toggle? Otherwise, AI is always pre-set to a specific skill level so no clue why it would revert. That makes no sense.

the ai doesn't really seem to attack for me, on both sides.

they just sit there and amass units.

AI toggle doesn't apply...

Strange. This should not be the case!

Even if Strongholds SCaR disables the AI of the player (which should NOT), the AI toggle should re-enable it.

Try using my autoexec.lua, start the game in -dev mode, and press F5 during the Enemy Stronghold game (or whenever/wherever).

Thanks for quick reply. I did that, AI toggle works perfectly in deathmatch custom scenarios or in campaign maps but not if you attack enemy headquarter territory. Currently I'm playing where necrons should invade eldar homebase and in the beginning of the battle after necrons wipe out eldar mirror army and reclaim base - AI is not being toggled after I press F5 and units stands inactive even if there is builders next to the necron base. Same thing happens with other races in campaign if you invade the main homeland of the enemy territory

... I do not know what to say.

This should NOT be happening.

Sorry brother but I do not have the time to test it.

Does the F5 toggle work on standard skirmish maps? If it does not, then its something on your end. If it does but NOT in the Campaign.. yeah no clue there: never knew you could take over Campaign AI.. thought that might actually break the SP game.

As far as I recall, the Cpu_ControlLocalPlayer() should work even for the Campaign.

I made some campaign tests, and to speed up the process I was using F5 to most matches.

So it SHOULD be working...

Yes it does work in normal skirmish mode, AI controls my troops like pure AIvsAI. It also work on campaign maps. But doesn't work on campaign maps where you have to fight on enemy main headquarter territory map (they are unique scenarios on campaign)

So I have tested in different way. When I attack enemies main headquarter territory as I mentioned before when I press F5 AI doesn't take over on my faction but I tried to press F7/F8 to disable/enable AI for everyone. I thought after if I would press F8 it ''re-activate'' AI on my faction but still nothing. Even worst - if I even press F7 (disable AI for everyone) AI won't be disabled for an enemy! While in other standart campaign maps F7 disables AI for an enemy and my faction AI too if I pressed F5. But on enemies headquarter territories those commands doesn't work at all. What is going on and why  :sad2:
