hey celeglin,

youve done great work making the elven alliance and adding the extra stuff to rohan but do you think that you could make some gondor and mordor stuff as well please???

E.g. Mordor

Heroes:

Mouth of Sauron
Sauron
Nazgul captains(on foot)

Units:

Orc Pikemen
Orc Captain
Wargs (mordor uses them at minas tirith in the courtyard)

Gondor:

Units:

Gondor Spearman (not tower guards) just gondor spearmen, much cooler looking than tower guards
Fountain Guards (like rohan royal guards but with cool gondor armor and cape)

and can u please give the rangers a cool sword/bow toggle, make them much better in combat

thanks for reading and can u please tell me wat u think???

ive tried downloading other mods with this stuff but none of them work!!! youre the only reliable modder out there so plz consider it??? :p

None of those will be added to TEA as it is at the moment, for balancing reasons, as far as I know. The new Rohan stuff was only done to counterbalance Legolas moving to the Elven faction

However when TEA is finished Cel will be expanding it to the The Last Twilight mod which will have two elven factions instead of one. I believe he is interesting in things like Nazgul on foot and some of the other units and heroes. He would have to clarify this himself though.

I doubt very much Sauron will be in, for balancing reason as he is very powerful plus at the time of the war of the ring he doesnt have the ring and therefore cant take physical form. It is also unlikely that he would have fought, due to something Denethor said about Sauron only coming to the battlefield at the end to gloat or words to that effect.

Yes but you cant put absolutely everything in, because the game has to be balanced. But like I said there is a chance they will make it into the Last Twilight mod. You will have to wait for Cel to reply however he is internet-less at the moment.

gondor is a defensive faction ingame.
so there have to be some units.
they took 5 units too maintain the balance ingame.
all of these extra units would smash the balance.

and rangers aren't elves.
they only use their swords in close combat.
their main-purpose is to ambush the enemy, so they need less units to kill more.
swords/bow toggle won't help then
for this subject is a topic upon this forum, but i can't remember where.

-Cel has already said he does not want to add the mouth of sauron, despite how much ive asked him. Cel sees him as a messenger not a fighter.
-Sauron does not come out to fight except to brag. cel likely wont add him
-the nazgul on foot, i think, will happen
-cant commet on the orcs
-you only really see one warg in Minas Tirith, and this was most likely Gothmog's warg.
-the tower guard have already been changed to the fountain gaurd in the latest version that is not out.
-something tells me the spearmen wont happen
-the rangers will likely not be changed that way because cel already doesnt like their swords, at least the way the are.

adummy....

wargs are at Minas Tirith :p if you pay attention when they've breached the gate, and when the orcs come, you can see Easterlings behind them... when they chage the camera angle so we see the attack from the side, you can see wargs attacking behind the thing your suppose to focus on :thumbsupsmiley: it's a second before the gondorian spearman "jump-attacks" the orc

and then there's the orc that rips a solider in two.. or something... but that's probably the one you meant :xcahik_:

all in all, why would Sauron send one warg? :p I belive he sent many even though we don't see many of them :xcahik_: the easterlings are only a few seconds in RotK :xcahik_:

it's logical alright :p cause it's riderless, and Gothmog's wargless....

Sorry mh, but I have to correct you/add to your comments. The Rohan stuff was added because of the departure of Legolas and the 'Galadhrim'. And yeah, on foot/on horse Nazgul are gonna be part of TLT.

but wat about the other things, gondor had all these things at minas tirith!!! why shouldnt they have them in the game

i quote celeglin saying something about the mod saying that it was based on what if????

Correct, this mod was based on the notion of 'what-if', but what-if for the Elves only. You don't see Arwen actually fighting in the movie/the book, but you can tell she's ready for it. :p

As for the rest of your comment, Gondor already has anti-cavalry (the Fountain Guard), and they don't need spearmen just because they appeared in the movies. And about the wargs, they only appeared in Minas Tirith for Mordor. Celeglin has already put them in his Minas Tirith mission, so that's fine, but putting them in the Mordor faction is just ludacris. They only appeared in one small scene in the movie. Anyway, it'll offset all balance done by EA and Celeglin. The Rangers will be overpowering if they get the toggle-weapon ability; their primarily used for ranged attacks and ambush. EA let them have swords in case they came into close combat, and because you see Rangers fighting with swords.

That sounds like a demand more than a suggestion. This is Celeglin's mod, which means he can do whatever he wants with it. He decides whether your ideas are taken and put into the mod.

And explain to me exactly how a) Mordor doesn't have enough stuff, b) how your suggestions will balance it out, and c) how the game needs it.

it will make mordor more offensive:
having more heroes will make it much more movie like
another thing:
if u want to balance it, add isildur for gondor how cool would that be.
gondor only has 6 heroes when rohan has 9

in the movies mordor has a more diverse selection of units
it seems to me that they just dont have enough and it would be awesome with all this stuff, ive seen other mods with all this stuff but none of them work, celeglin is the only reliable modder out there, it would be awesome, the game needs these things to make it more tolkein-tied.

How can Mordor be more offensive? They're the most offensive faction in the game! They don't need to be more offensive.

it will make mordor more offensive:
having more heroes will make it much more movie like

All I'm reading in your post is to make this mod more movie-like. The movies weren't faithful to all the aspects of Tolkien's work, you know *points to Helm's Deep and the Elves there*. Why should Isildur be added to Gondor? He was dead in the time of the War of the Ring, and I've got a feeling that Celeglin won't want to add long dead heroes to his mod. Gondor has 6 heroes while Rohan has 9 because of balance. Adding your ideas will not make the game more "Tolkien-tied". It might make it cooler, but definately not Tolkien-tied.

And Celeglin being the only reliable modder out there? Someone's gonna take offense to that. :p

...exactly what you said, its a video game, not a movie or a book. if you want it like the books/movies, then mordor should easily be able to crush everyone, because the ring is not in the game :p

The game doesn't need anything else really, except the few balance problems. Adding new units would be a nightmare for balance.
Mordor doesn't have enough stuff?Ok.........right......

having more heroes will make it much more movie like

Exactly how many heros for mordor did you see fight?Witchking, gothmog(not really) and the nazgul. Maybe Gorbag and Shagrat, but really they were nothing more then Captains. They just got lucky and were named. In Sauron's veiw every single one of them was expenable, except maybe the nazgul
Dude, just calm down.
