Stewards blessing I like, but only the name ;) And it's purpose... but not heal, or anything... needs to be fancier :)

Also maybe a Idea for Rohan in terms of siege. Agralond Cautapult... With the Dwarves as part of the kingdom of rohan.

Will heros be availible from the start or will some become availible through the purchase of the kingdom power?

I tried to make them purchasable when the Kingdom powers were bought, but it didn't seem to work sadly... So they will be there from start, which might as well be just as good :ninja: No need to wait to train units at the late part of the game anyways? :thumbsupsmiley:

Aglarond Catapult won't be... But, a long time ago, I asked Matias what Rohan should have for siege, with the ents going away... And we went with Aglarond Ballista, if they are to have something ;) But that's what I think it will be... it might turn up as something else..
Also, there will be a Rohan Ram ;) With rohirrim infantry carrying it...

After reading through 7 pages of ideas, excuse me if this has been mentioned before. The ideas start blurring after page 5 or so. ;)

About Guards of the Fountain Court (ie: Tower Guards). Given what I've read/seen of them, I think it would be a good idea to limit the number of hordes you can have out, those hordes cannot leave teh castle, but gain a fairly large defensive boost to compensate. The reasoning behind this is the fact that the Guards of the Fountain court were supposed to, more or less, guard the fountain court. :p Not so much anything else. The only reason I could possibly think of for them to leave the castle was to protect the king/steward, but that's waht the Citadel guard is for.

Meh. Just some ramblings from yours truly.

Edit: Damn. Tried to change my avatar again, but it just shows me a squished flag-bearing horseman. Anyone see a Tower Guard? Or do you see what I see?

personally, I think that Citadel Guards and Tower Guards are the same, since Tower and Citadel could be something about the same ;)
But Fountain Guards are, as said, protecting the Fountain Court...

If you had read the site, then you would've noticed this;
Only 4 hordes available at a time.
So yes, they are limited, and you never have more than 20 of them ;) (16 soldiers, 4 banner carriers... and also a couple of extras for the King)
But keeping them behind the castle walls, would be kinda pointless... I mean, the fountain court isn't in the castle, so why not go out and bash necks? :p
Besides, atleast in the early days of the mod, it was decided that the City of Minas Anor (Tirith) was besieged by Rhûn, and then Eldaravir sounded the retreat, and thus even the fountain guards had to leave, being ordered by the King, and as far as I know, he is the only one who can command them. Thus, they now fight to reclaim the fountain court.... Yes, they only care about the court! They'll run through the 7 levels to get to the court! ;)
I could perhaps make a couple 'slaved' to guard the citadel in every castle, but I think that should go to the Guards of the Citadel... Which makes me acctually wanna do that :D But we'll see...

Also, I don't even know if Guards of the Fountain Court is a Tolkien thing, or something made up by PJ, or even just GW.... Still, I like it ;)


edit; and yes, you have a Fountain Guard in your avy ;) Just right-click, then "Reload picture", or something... atleast in Opera ;)

Whoopsie. Guess I didn't pay as much attention to reading the unit details as I had thought. :p

Though, the idea of a few slaved units, made to protect the citadel at all costs, is a grand idea. Could be summonable from the citadel. Huzzah!

Huzzah for slight thread necromancy, despite it being a sticky. Does it still count as such? Who knows.

Anyway, I got bored, and read this entire thread, post by post, and had quite a bit of thought about Harad. For example, a hero for Harad could be [insert name here], Fleet Master. A Corsair(ian?) that has ties to the Harad empire. Who knows, maybe he could have ties to the assassin's sect, and be able to throw daggers. With poison. (Huzzah!) Or the fact that, despite the obvious parts of the Harad empire, that is, big lumbering Mumakil, there's also the very subtle side to it, making me think, hey? Why not capitilise on that? Have a lot of Harad's units be able to stealth, and get bonuses when attacking while stealthed. Make them somewhat of a sneaky faction, with a bit of hardcore offense added in with teh Corsairs and the mumakil.

Meh. Just me speaking what I'm thinking, with not much time in-between.

By the way, Lauri, what do you plan for the beta release? Are you going to release the entire mod in one swing? Or maybe a Gondor/Rhun beta, and then release the other two when they're done? Or something.

First there'll be a Gondor\Rhun beta, with possibilites for playing Harad and Rohan (as far as I've come with them)..

And if you want me to add Dalamyr, just say so, istead of sneaking it around and make it 'your' idea :popcorn: :blush: If you acctually thought him up yourself... good job :popcorn:
Still, I have a Corairs Captain in mind already :blush: Captain, as in hero :shiftee: Corsair, not assasin :blush: Reason for this is, atleast one of them;
Feles, which is an assasin hero... Hasharii, assasin units... So, you can make an assasin army if you want :blush: If you want to win, I wouldn't recommend it, but still :shiftee:

IMO, Harad is a purely offensive faction, very little stealthed.. Only units that will be stealthed are the assasins :blush: Corsairs, as I see them, aren't as offensive as you put them.. I imagen them kinda like Vikings... Raiding cities at the shore... Going off, raiding, and getting out before there is someone to resist them :blush:
Mumakil will be as before :blush:
Also, of course Corairs have ties with Harad... if not, they wouldn't figth "for" them :blush:
So again, Harad will be the most offensive faction, with strong troops and strong support. Their lack you ask? Armor and Fire... You won't be able to tear down buildings with their archers very easily I tell you ;) Units, especially cavalry, but not buildings :blush:

Heh. Looks like I've been found out!

Still, it's safe to assume that there would be future Fleetmasters, which opens up the spot for that kind of hero. And, reflecting on what I put before... not my best ideas. Still, like I said. Just thoughts straight to the internet. :xcahik_:

I think so, yes, but the Haradrim (to me) are more likely to weild the power of an assassin's sect. Given, you know, they have a specialised branch of assassins. Do a quick google of Haradrim Assassins, as most webpages know a lot more about them then little humble me. :xcahik_:

Aye, and the Hasharii aren't something Tolkien invented, but it's quite a nice thought about Harad, a good enough reason to have 'em, besides the uniqeness ;)

And noo... Rhûn doesn't have any assasin hero... They have Khôragan, their sorcerous leader (sp?), Brûdhan, their king, Gurthgul, their beloved wraith, and Sâmeel, their ranger.... ;)

And my corairs hero aren't a fleetmaster, as I don't really fancy the name... A fleetmaster shouldn't figth too much on ground, as I see it :xcahik_: So, I have just highranked captain of Umbar ;)

Was parousing the Gondor media, and noticed that the Dol Amroth Knights, and the Prince... well, they look the same quite frankly. Any plans for changing the prince, or the knight? If so, a breastplate would look nice on the prince, and serve a practical use to boot. :wink_new:

Trust me, you easily see the difference in-game ;)

Besides, what is it you'd see changed really? The KoDA are suppose to be the very elite, they shouldn't look too different from their captain :sad: Aye, his a prince, but still their captain ;) A breatplate would only similiarize him with the Men-at-Arms, which is not what I want..

Although, I admit that I want to redo both of them, to make them more similiar to the books description... (which is along the lines of "fully armored")

Maybe there could be like an elf hero. About as strong as Faramir with the bow( and maybe a little faster rate of fire), but with the strength of Boromir with the sword. He could have high health, medium attack, and fast running. What do you think?

I think you haven't been to the site, on the Gondor page, and read about the last hero it says something about... Now that's what I think :sad:
Still, he's an archer hero mainly, with ability to use the sword... not a Legolas toggle, but a real one.
High health, high damage, "normal" speed... Reason?

Dwarves - Slow
Men - Medium
Elves - Fast

Now that's a setup I don't wanna follow... Their all medium ^_^ The elves aren't really running faster than men I would assume ;) Dwarves are natural sprinters as well, so Gimli says atleast, and they would run normal in the game IMO... as they don't go across the land fer days after days...
