Hero or no Hero

I really hate hero balancing. Usually Tanya comes out underneath too and as much as that sounds nice it means she isn't as good as the others, which isn't fair.

You can say Other in your post but you MUST post what "other" you want.

Hate hero balancing? Simple solution; don't make them obsenely powerful! Heroes are just extra-tough versions of other infantry, with some anti-building power knocked on (or AT, in the case of Tanya). Putting all your eggs in one basket is always going to cause inbalance, so I suggest don't do it.
Replace "heroes" with "commanders" - a one-at-a-time type of unit that, instead of kicking ass itself, enhances in some way the abilities of others.
You still get your limitted-edition uniquely flavored infantryman, but this way its more interesting to play, and less inbalanced.

i'll stick w/ 1 hero for each just give tanya a diff. gun that's all i say

u cant make tanya's gun diff and make her range equal to boris... that would be giving both sides a hero with the same capabilities... takes away the motif of the allies if you give tanya a strong gun...

then make it slightly shorter than boris's by 3 maybe

The problem is of course that there are very few friendly weapons in the game:

• Heal
• Repair
• Iron Curtian
• Overcharge

What we really need is aweapon that increaes the value of tags like ROF, damage, strength and speed temporary.
VK already has this as an SW in 1.10, so maybe we could trick him into adding it as a weapons tag in SwizzlePatch 1. I'm thinking about tags like IsPropaganda=bool, PropagandaType=ROF,Speed,etc., and PropagandaPower=decimal.
Of course, this would make many mods implement such a unit, and we would see a lot of Russian Commisares and Allied officers, not to talk about Russian propaganda towers.

Well, heroes are suposed to be special, espeically if you look at the C&C games:
Commando/Tanya: Only unit with C4 and one shot kills
Hijacker: Only hijacker in game
Cyborg Commando: Only Nod unit with an all around weapon
Ghost Stalker: Only infantry with railgun, only unit with C4
MMkII: Only vehicle with railguns
Boris: Only long range all rounder +Airstrike
Col. Burton: Only allrounder American unit, only unit with C4
Jarmen Kell: Only GLA sniper, driver snipe.
Black Lotus: Only China money drainer, only long range building capture

The point about the heroes is not to take a unit ang improve it (That is the task of Stolen Tech) the task of heroes is to be a really powerful exclusive unit. There are no Cyborg Commando-esque units in YR, so a Cyborg Commando unit can be a hero (Volkov)

lotus only one to steal from supply centres though and disable vehicles (ignoring super hack abilities) and normal hacker drains money from internet.
