Invented dude..

Not that there's much of a choice, but I don't like his name at all
Btw, you can also see on his name that he's invented... Just one big letter

What? Really? How can you tell its invented? I really didn't know it was made up... :(

EDIT: Now I come to think of it, I searched the actor in google and got no results of the same name. I guess your right... :(

And there was me getting excited...

Ignited into the world in a flash of lightning, it gleams faintly in the heart of its mother, wood. It begins as an ember, a mere wisp of heat and colour. Its chance of survival at this critical moment is minute, yet it fights on, against the unforgiving cold, against the depths of night and against its mortal enemy: rain.

1. I know many things from the Lord of the Rings books and movies, and I know that the guy from the Extended Edition of the movies didn't have a name, and wasn't from the books either.

2. His name was Harimda the harsh.. Not Harimda the Harsh.. If it's a name with a small letter, an obvious name like that, it's probably fake

3. Harimda doesn't seem very dunlendingish to me..

4. You'll have to use an invented hero anyways for Isengard, but please don't use that name  But there is no heroes to lead them from either the books or movies, you'll have to find up one

I may be wrong, but I think that Naz has already put Wulf in the dunlending camp in Isengard. Sorry to burst you guys' bubble if I heard right.

Okay, I've read the pages here, and I have something to say.

First, let's not go overboard with this realism thing. Remember the adage, "Balance vs. Realism?" Go to far, and the game is ruined in terms of just plain fun. Dont get me wrong, I very much appreciate this movie feeling and realism that Nazgul is bringing to BFME 2. It sorely needed it!

Someone farther back posted up a very good, simple, and easy to do solution to the whole powers thing. Just have all the powers available at Rank 1, and have the damage and other stats increased with each rank. No advanced coding necessary.

as for where the heroes come from, don't go overboard with that either. I like the idea of some heroes coming from other buildings (I loved Captain Jackson!) but 80% of them shouldnt be that way.

Great work so far, and may this mod forever be remembered as the best of the BFME II mods!

I agree with that. It would also make heroes more expensive, so you couldn't buy them until later. It would have to cost quite a bit to buy Gandalf or Aragorn with all powers.

This does ruin the Fellbeast system, though.

if I'm correct on understanding this, the Nazgul didn't get their Fell Beasts until after their horses drowned and the power of Sauron started to majorly grow. In relation to the game, the Fell Beasts would then be an exception to my above suggestion.

Probably a stupid idea, but what about giving Merry and Pippin one high level ability each based on the books?

In the Return of the King, Pippin managed to kill a troll (okay, the troll fell on him and knocked him out afterwards, but still pretty good going) and so it could be reasonable to give him a "troll slayer" power or similar, like Brand has with regards to dragons (maybe a power that inflicted a lot of damage to a target troll rather than killing it).

Because of Merry's weapon (which I think was forged to fight the ring wraiths), he could have a high level ability that could take a reasonable amount of health off a Nazgul or even make it/them more vulnerable to other attacks for a short amount of time.

In the book he definitely does in the fight at the Black Gate - Book 5 chapter 10:

"At Pippin's side Beregond was stunned and overborne and he fell; and the great troll-chief that smote him down bent over him, reaching out a clutching claw; for these fell creatures would bite the throats of those that they threw down.

"Then Pippin stabbed upwards, and the written blade of Westernesse pierced through the hide and went deep into the vitals of the troll, and his black blood came gushing out. He toppled forward and came crashing down like a falling rock, burying those beneath him. Blackness and stench and crushing pain came upon Pippin, and his mind fell away into a great darkness."

The Troll Chief, is it Mollock? The one that Aragorn fights in ROTK at the Battle of Morranon...

Yep, I'm pretty sure that's the troll the books were talking about. But in the movie, the troll fights Aragorn and then I guess the troll gets away, only (one can only assume) being devoured by the ground coming apart.

:p How about this guy? I'm very doubtful though: Drego the Dunland Chief

http://lotr.wikia.co...in_Middle-earth (Scroll down to the Battle of Edoras table (Where the dunlendings take over the farms of rohan) and one of the table entries 'Commanders' for Dunland says this guys name)

Or this guy:
http://www.tuckborou...tml#Squint-eyed
Squint-eyed Southerner
Agent of Saruman. The squint-eyed Southerner's name is not known. He was a Man of Dunland, but he was rumored to have Orc blood. His mixed blood may have been the result of cross-breeding experiments that Saruman allegedly conducted. The squint-eyed Southerner was an outlaw. He was driven out of Dunland, and he became one of Saruman's most trusted servants.

He travelled to the Shire to conduct business for Saruman. He and other agents bought pipe-weed and other supplies for Saruman from Hobbits of the Bracegirdle and Sackville-Baggins families. Saruman's agents also gathered information from these Hobbits about the Shire which they relayed to Saruman. Saruman was suspicious of Gandalf's interest in Hobbits and he thought that they might have some connection to the One Ring.

In September of 3018, the squint-eyed Southerner was on his way to the Shire with special instructions to learn if any Hobbits had recently left. He was waylaid by the Lord of the Nazgul who was seeking the Shire and a Hobbit named Baggins. The squint-eyed Southerner, fearing for his life, told him the location of the Shire and that a Baggins could be found in Hobbiton.

The Lord of the Nazgul sent the squint-eyed Southerner to Bree to spy for him. The squint-eyed Southerner joined up with a disreputable Man of Bree named Bill Ferny. At the Prancing Pony on September 29, the two of them saw Frodo Baggins vanish into thin air. They reported this information to the Nazgul. That night the inn was attacked, but Frodo and his companions were kept safe by Aragorn. The next morning, the squint-eyed Southerner was at Bill Ferny's house when Aragorn and the Hobbits passed by on their way out of Bree.

In 3019, many of Saruman's agents occupied the Shire and oppressed the Hobbits. It is not known whether the squint-eyed Southerner was among them, but many of the Men resembled him. The Men were driven out of the Shire in the Battle of Bywater on November 3.

The Return of the King: "The Scouring of the Shire," p. 283

He could be an early game, spy type hero. A second, less sneaky Wormtounge.

I'm on a mission to get Isengard another hero. :)

Drego is not :p
Besides, Drego is to close to Brego, which is a Rohan name :)

Squint-eyed could act as a spy-like hero, with some of Evil-Men's CaH powers, or something, but Isengard already has Wormtongue, who is weak in battle, sorta the same idea.

I know, but after 4 attempts and a lot of research, I'm not about to give up on Squint-eye just cause Wormtounge's already like him. He could have a different set of powers, completely to Wormtounge, but still be a cheap, early-game hero.

I suggest these as his powers:
Lv. 1- Stealth
Lv. 3- Attach Spy (CaH power)
Lv. 5- Disguise

Instead of trying to find a rarely mentioned or new character for Isengard, why not just use Bill Ferny himself.

He served Saruman from Bree, and helped the Nazgul in finding Frodo.
He could be a hero similar to Wormtongue, but better in battle and less at poisoning/sneaking.

Bill Ferny
Cost: 1200
Weapon: Sword
Abilities:
Level 1- Saruman's Captain- nearby ruffians and Dunland units gain 50% damage and 50% attack speed (passive)
Level 3- Spy Report- Ferny gains a boost to vision and can detect stealth
Level 8- Wicked Jeer- Ferny causes enemy units (not heroes) within a small radius to be unable to attack (they are offended :p ) but they can be attacked
Level 10- Traveler's Ale- Ferny gains 100% damage, 50% armor, and 20% speed for a limited time

Who is he? I've never heard of him. BUt then again, I've only watched the movies and read one book (and that was The hobbit...) :D
