Don't worry about textures... I'll have them the exact right color and darken them up in the final stages before publishing =)

Unfortunately no, Its just a static object. However Im using the Dol gulder fortress at its base to represent a portion of the tower, that can be destroyed though.

If you would use the ShellMap model (the big pieces) like I did, instead of the static solid one piece object, they will break up when coded to do so :p

That map is plain awesome.

And you beat me to it. :p I was supposed to make a Barad'Dur map for Gfire, but I guess I can get ideas from this.

Off-Topic: Oh, and if you need an Isenmouthe map, I made one recently. It still has a long way to go for textures, but the general layout is pretty much complete.

Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the Darkness bind them.

my thanks for the comments, and the offer If i decide to use your map I will let you know. As for Barad dur Ill have to rebuild it because the base is too small to build in adequately, or maybe it will end up in RJ using universal buildplots.

Maybe you can also add build plots to the SEE version? Would come in handy for some fortress maps, like this one.

Yeah I thought about that, but I was trying to avoid making things like RJ mod, the reality is Buildplots make better fortress maps. On top of that SEE isnt really geared for map support yet. So Im kinda stuck right now.

all it needs is a smaller bridge the tower and it would be almost perfect

Wow.
Ignited into the world in a flash of lightning, it gleams faintly in the heart of its mother, wood. It begins as an ember, a mere wisp of heat and colour. Its chance of survival at this critical moment is minute, yet it fights on, against the unforgiving cold, against the depths of night and against its mortal enemy: rain.

I hope we'll implement it, but I'm unsure on NJM's state on this, perhaps it was lost during the crash he experienced in which he lost Minas Tirith too.

... perhaps it was lost during the crash ...

Well, that's the nature of Barad-dur, to crash and then rise again:

The building of Barad-dur

In the Tale of Years for the Second Age (Return of the King p. 364 hardback), it states the following:

"c. 1000 Sauron ... chooses Mordor as a land to make into a stronghold. He begins the building of Barad-dur.

...

"c. 1600 Sauron forges the One Ring in Orodruin. He completes the Barad-dur. Celebrimbor perceives the designs of Sauron ..."

What makes this curious is the clear statement given by Elrond about the Dark Tower's construction, as he described the cleaning-up after the Battle of the Last Alliance (Fellowship of the Ring p. 257 hardback):

"The Dark Tower was broken, but its foundations were not removed; for they were made with the power of the Ring ..."

Now since the Ring wasn't forged until SA 1600, this means that Sauron spent approximately six hundred years building the Barad-dur ... before he had built the foundation! Moreover, once the foundation was finally laid, the Barad-dur was completed almost immediately!

... How do we explain this? How can we explain how Sauron - a Maia of Aule, no less - could spend six hundred years building a Tower, and yet build the foundation last?

It's worth observing that, once Sauron had the foundations set up, he could also rebuild the Barad-dur with incredible speed. The Tower was "levelled to the ground" at the end of the Second Age (Silmarillion p. 294 hardback); yet, according to the Tale of Years, Sauron began rebuilding the Barad-dur in TA 2951 - and it was evidently finished by the time of the War of the Ring (TA 3018), only some 67 years later!
