The bg is a little pale, and is that a... caveman??? :D

Also, maybe rescale the pic, because the palantir gets cut on the edges, so he'll be headless

agreed.I think too much attention has been put on Palantir artwork.
I mean big deal you can use google and put on a filter. It doesn't show that much skill.
And i'm not sorry if it sounds like i'm picking on you.

a) that's a... wildman? yeah right
b) it needs scaling
c) art is more than a google image with a bad filter, which I think is all you used
d) actually I don't care about your self-proclaimed 'new method', it will probably suck anyways
e) sorry if I'm a bit too harsh on ye, but what needs to be said needs to be said.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

Hey listen

you guys are really pretentious.

I see you guys picking on guess who but you yourselves don't have any good design of your own to follow through on your hard talk.

I didn't want to get in the middle of this but this makes me a bit angry that you'd shoot down a solid newb attempt at making something good. I think its great and it has potential.

Not to make any enemies, but you have absolutly NO no room to talk about who's good or who's bad. ok?

I don't think you'd take too kindly if I were to rip apart your work. Because I could in the blink of an eye.

Lets keep it friendly eh?

Good job guess who.

Astrinax... the people commenting include Eldaron25 (good palentir artist) and Dain, Matias and Radspakr (highly respected modders) - so I think they do have "good designs of their own".

If this place was full of "good job"'s and no critique, then no-one would improve.

In the end, it's a photo with a filter. It's a start, but there's a huge amount for improvement. There are plenty of good tutorials on the main site to teach him better filters, how to fade it out etc. It's not our fault if he hasn't used them, but he knows they're there.

As m@tt has pointed out in the post above mine, you can't expect to receive praise for your first work when there is much room for improvement.

I think you are just trying to learn too much at once, as I see:

2d Artist, Newbie Modeller, skinner learning, and learning several others

Focus on one or two things, read some tutorials and ask people how to improve, Imo I think people are so negative is because you showcase 1 2d art image which isn't really hard to make and its not a good one either.

well,

you're trying and that's good.
why don't you open up the program you use and try again?

i'll give you some tips, don't know whether i'm such a good artist but what the heck:

1. try to center the picture, this means get the head just a little above the center of the picture.
2. fade out, this is done with the erasor tool, you need to have a small toolbar as well to use this feature. you must change the bar which is currently on 100, make it 25 or something you like better.
3. take some time to look around the program. There are some funny tools. And the longer you look the better you'll become with the program.

good luck,

pm me if you want help.
If the above post offended you in any way,
please take note that, until further notice, I don't care, so get lost.

well, "only modeller, skinning, 2d art, animating and binding" is quite alot to much :D
And if you take away Animating and binding, it's still much...

But seriously, if you want to modell, learn to BIND! That's what most of the "modellers" do in the BFME scene... (can't think of to many new modders who makes their own models...)
