Dain, since you're like... a partial team member (), what kind of stuff will TLD be making use of in the new versions? Pillaging villages of course would be fun, but the way it works currently (constant and unceasing pillaging) may not work so well with the LOTR world and the limited number of cities.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Heh... I really don't know how villages will fit into TLD gameplay... I do know a few things which will hopefully happen, but I really am not allowed to say.

Utter lying idiot. Only one non-turkish team member has been hired and thats the creator of Battle for Sicily. What a little lying git.

There are loads of excelent texture artists in the m&B community. Why would they hire (which they're not going to as they don't need to) an utter RUBBISH who can barely skin from the BFME community.

d_bershevits lying about something? You DO surprise me :good:

I'm sort of swinging in and out (mostly out) of M&B nowadays. When I read this a few weeks ago I immediately went and downloaded the new version, played non stop for a day or two then loaded up LOTRO to 'check my mail for a few minutes' and haven't gone back to it since. It's good fun though, just my attention span isn't really held that much by native (eagerly waiting TLD).

It was pretty fun pillaging villages, standing at the bridge with a two handed sword shouting 'Aure entuluva!' and one-hitting all trolls (paper-mache armoured peasants) as they tried to get close. With the sheer amount of them involved in pillaging I found myself leveling very quickly though, almost too quickly :(

Plus I found money a bit easy to come by in the latest version. Pillaged 2 cities, then went off and brought myself some of the best equipment I could find :/

Had some great fun attacking castles, my men got slaughtered of course (stinking peasants) so then I was just strutting along the walls with a shield blocking all arrows being fired at me, then pulling out my trusty 2 hander when I got close enough. Not to mention that I kept picking up arrows off the corpses and raining death upon the guards that weren't on the walls :crazed:

Playing games? Ah, you'll never be a good modder if you get involved in actually playing them!

I know it's very addictive but my TLD doesn't work properly: It doesn't load(the first time i did it, it took a long time to load), i can't buy any troops.

Are you asking for a pirated copy? If yes... may pointy things stab you in the night. This is a small Indy game which relies on people actually paying for it.

The latest trial version can be downloaded from the link I first posted.

Exactly. Imagine this: The guys developing the game are much like us modders. It's great to see that their work is actually (hopefully) paying their livelyhood. Ripping them off is like ripping ourselves off. Bad. Very bad.

It is a small game.. so they rely entirely on people buying the game to keep making it... if people pirate it, this little company is loosing money. Which is rather nasty since they've put a lot of effort into this game.

The new map really is huge. It can take ages just to travel through one factions territory. The new quests are fun, and with the new AI, a one on one duel with the bandit you're hunting down is a nice diversion from the normal battles.

Talking of normal battles, I saw a Khergit force perform a controlled cavalry charge on my flank the other day.. I was surprised to say the least.

I know, I'm reviving an extremely dead topic, but a new version is out, version .953. It changes and espands the map, adds some new quests, new characters, and more people to kill ;)
