if u do it ea way

1)Restart Computer
2)open disc drive
3)insert rotwk disc
4)let autorun PLAY!
5)menu will appear
6)click updates
7)click ok to get to patch 2.01

or download it of lotr files

Downloading from EA can be a slow business. I'd recommend IGN.

Back already...
I took the cd out, popped it in, when the menu came up I pressed check for updates, a message came up saying "connecting to EA...", it stayed up for a minute or two, then it stopped and this came up "Lord of the Rings, Rise of the Witch King, Patch Error... Could not connect." I'm getting kinda sad.

Ohh... I remember this problem. I had this same problem sometime ago with a mod I was making. Everything worked fine. Except that the all the Spell Book powers had white blocks in the area where you buy them. But they would show up after you purchase them.

I'd have to dig around the forums to find the topic. Because I believe that I did find a solution to it. And this only happened with RotWK to my recollection.

Your best bet, from what I see in that topic, is to completely uninstall and then reinstall the game. Maybe clean up the harddrive too . It might have something to do with patch 2.01. But that statement is most likely improbable, due to the fact I never really found out why it did that.

huh))) yeah,, the last solution would to try reinstall but dont want to do it, cause i dont think it would help( the problem was there also without the mod and the patch(( i would try google again
