starship troopers mod

This mod will allow 2 new factions the humans & the insects from the movie called starship troopers. Beings modding february.


Factions:

Snipers (deadley one shot kill rubbish at close range)

Looks like the latter part of a post outlining ideas for a mod. Do you have the game yet? If you havent I can understand but if you do could you try and add something about how you would modify the gameplay of the game to match all these new units etc. in your mod please ;)

Yes sure.

I already got most of the stuff it looks like the mod the game. I haven't yet got the game but mods have already been started for the game before release (some started like october :O)

after a day of playing the game i will decide how i will work the 2 new factions out.

Yeah that;s cool. It's just you had nothing it all as to how you invisioned the gameplay of it to be - that's all :)

my post sounds very noobish because it just does but the mod won't be i modded other games so i am quite relaxed the only good mod right now is the JOJ that was started way back :(

Because hierachy make no buildings i don't know how i will do it hopefully the secret human faction did build buildings in the campaign thats how i will do it a bit like bfme2 but without the porter.

Aww, just because we started early doesn't mean we're the only good mod. Dedication, hard work, and the ability to work with people are the key to your success mate. Best of luck.

Maybe your post should say modding begins March :shiftee: We're waiting for the mod tools right now too, so we're producing models and coding a launcher while we wait :p

yay :shiftee: recently quit bfme2 to mod a much better game because this a new game that is really good. :xcahik_:

i have also seen you in the petroglyph forums i did post a thread there as well :alien:

now i will know what to do with the factions now :thumbsupsmiley:

Brownie points, Yes UaW is a superior game, and it should definitely be quite easy to mod. When the tools are out <_<

So what are your skills in relationship to UaW, have experience with Lua or Xml or 3d skills. What skills do you have to make this mod come to fruition?

just something i want to make a new mod. i have been looking around the xml and lua files though to get a hand of it switching from bfme2 to this is hard to make because this imo will be harded coding. i neither have the required moddling kit yet or photoshop and gimp is terrible for these types of stuff ;)

XML part is real real easy to do. You'll use XML to create locations in Planet Conquest maps, define routes between them, you'll also use XML for adding units into the game. Lua is for AI, map scripting, and a few more things.

Starship troopers 3 is coming out so even more bugs/heroes i can have :)
