Testing the water here... bear in mind we already have things like Mirkwood warriors + armoured warriors... and some other stuff like doubling up Gondor hordes.

But what are your ideas?

Will mini-faction units be able to join with regular faction units?

Also like to see hordes/battalions join with battering rams to protect it and/or take damage that otherwise would have gone to the ram and its carriers. I think it might be kind of neat to be able to join 3 or 4 mumakil together into a battalion so they stay in a line when using their trample power, instead of all just running randomly. Plus it would look much more like the movies when they are all lined up at first (would eliminate trying to click and direct them to straight paths next to one another, which I've never even bothered to do).

Another question, howabout combining two batallions of say swordsmen to form a larger fighting force or a 'regiment'?

I would really like to see the Rohirrm and their horse archers as a combo. Kennethain's post pretty much covers the rest.

i am not sure how that would be usefull seeing that they both have the same weakness ( in mean of counter unit ) - pikeman and advantage is in speed. in my eyes those combo hordes should bring some really usefull and new in mean of gameplay.

More trample, archers could fire and horses could fight in close combat. Sounds fine to me :p

I thought it would come to this, the idea is that if two battalions of the same type join up to form a larger force, they can take on larger threats and would be more difficult to quell. As well as gain attack and defense bonuses, however they're slightly slower. but never mind

I don't think they're slower and stronger and tougher though...
atleast, that's not too logical :wink_new:

Anything on the mumakil line though? Thoughts, I mean? Maybe I'm just the only one who would like to see that... plus I remember how worthless mumakil were in the vanilla BFME.. I think it's safe to assume they got a boost ^_^

I'm not entirely sure of how possibly joining single units together is.

it's possible (if not easy, then a one "man" horde will do the trick), but imo, it wouldn't be very good with huge creatures, or really creatures at all, to from up... atleast not to many

Hey you guys, I love mumakil idea, I also think it should be applied to certain types of trolls. After all the trolls in the hobit were semi-intellegent, they even managed to live together without killing each other, so I suppose the could fight together too. I was also thinking that hordes could be used with ents and eagles for the good factions which have them (and I don't mean the powers, the actual units). Finally I wanted to ask what the logic is behind combining calvary and non-calvary units. All is does is impeed your calvary. After all, they are still suseptible to pikes, it's just that now they move to slowly to get away. In every book I've read, fiction and non-fiction, and all the movies I've see, the calvary are was alays kept seperate from the main infantry. Well, that I have fo now, keep up the great work.
Peace

Units inside a horde don't collison detect. Can you imagine how horrible it would look with large units like trolls?

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.
