As a fan I smell cash-in of Kane and WW legacy.

Also not listening to community? Seems GDI have mechs and hover technology which is no longer meant to battle operational, same with cyborg tech. (how convient to have factions now)

Seems cabal is alive when apparantly his bunker was destroyed.

Seems kane has his mechanical face back in KW even though in TW its a perfectly normal face.

Oh and lets not forget, Kane knows your plans on Mobile Phones :p

TFD with all its bug-related crap.

I'm sure RA3 will be fun with nice effects but it end up being the same old RTS building base, spam x crap tank.

Oh and also no tiberium lifeforms, fun days...

Well it due to EA's old fault for dissolving the studio in the first place and they still piggyback off its legacy.

EA knows Kane and cheesy FMV with famous people sell.

EA knows online everyone just tank spams.

When EA tries to solve camping issues they just make the sides less diverse or unbalanced e.g. battle fortress YR

Also I bet online 99.9% of custom games will ban specific factions.

The screenies look ok but no better than ok. On its very release, CNC3's graphics looked a bit on the dated side, so I would expect no different of RA3.

Notice also no appearance of any actual infantry except that weird Bioshock (no pun intended) Big Daddy tesla trooper.

That allied destroyer tank is basically the cybran destroyer from Supreme Commander but shittified.

The game will be a bland, standard substandard generic RTS with little to set it apart from any other save the big shiny brand name, and the even bigger, shinier, EA logo.

Hell, Vega was a Nod turncoat in Tiberian Sun, but in the new FPS (and novel), he's a GDI commander....


Incorrect. One of vega's "family" is the GDI Commander.


I bet that was slipped into the novel, because I don't remember it in the game. Convenient that 'General R Vega' and 'Commander R Vega' are purportedly related :p

If you want to go by Former C&C designer Adam "Ishmael" Isgreen, there was a plan to connect them. Just...Westwood is gone and there will not be ANY connection what-so-ever. So, it is going to stay an alternate universe of an alternate universe. Which is fine, but they keep doing these alternate time line ideas.

don't like the screenshots. the design on the units looks cnc3ish, round and pretty lookalike... and if soviet's units only shoot lightning i would have guessed the allies would have invented a system to stop them by now, like, lightning-rods?

anyway, thats life these days. i like the soviet commando-girlie-thingie, going to be interesting to see what happens when she and tanya meets on the battlefield :p(unless that is tanya and she has been brainwashed or something :S)

i hope the rumors that japan being the 3rd team is nothing but bullshit. i can't imagine how they would fit into this. much rather see yuri come back with some interesting units.

well.i read through the posts,ya EA needs new ideas!it's probably going to make up with those pwnzor graphics....but i'm telling ya, maybe EA is just startin to get stupid?comeone, they used Kirov's on the last game, and also the tesla boat is just a rip from the tesla TANK.....WestWood could probably save there buts,but i highly doubt that, seeing how much the've screwed up, i don't know, maybe we could give it a try?maybe it's not as bad as you say.it's just a few units anyways.

oh and to that Guestt dude:RA1 was a shitty piece of crap, i despised it for it's crap skirmishes and retarded campaign, i have never done online ones but they probably suck as much as the skirmishes.it failed EPICLY in my books.

I'm sorry AG, but I completely disagree with the whole 'EA stolzors our mod ideas!!!111!' thing. Lets re access that facts then, hmm?


1) Armoured, enhanced animals = Chitzkoi from RA1.

2) Heavily armed war blimps = RA2 Kirov Airship. They can even be seen in some of the art on the RA3 site.

3) Transforming Tanks = Tick Tank Tiberian Sun. EA owned Westwood then. Can a game company really be blamed for stealing it's own stuff?

4) Buildings on water = Naval Shipyard. Seriously a real no-brainer.

5) Tesla Boat = Sea based Tesla Tank. EA wouldn't have needed to look at any mods to come up with that idea.


I think it's almost rather arrogant to assume that EA is stealing ideas from us. In fact most of the ideas you listed were already in some CnC game in one form or another.

On a lighter note, some more RA3 news was posted today on CnCNZ:


-Every unit has secondary functions. The allied tank for instance is able to concentrate radar beams to be used as a scouting unit

-Although not visible on the screens, there's going to be massive damaging in RA3, with weapons carving colossal craters into the ground

-Most structures are able to be built on water for extra cost

-Ships can only "land"/leave shore on sand, so its crucial to defend these areas

-The article writer claims that the impressive graphics don't shine through the screens. In his opinion, graphics are much better compared to CnC3, he's especially flabbergasted by the animations

-The Russians have a submarine called "Akula" which isn't simply deadly against ships, but is able to train divers as well

-The Bullfrog transport ship doesn't have to set shore, its able to "shoot" out the units it's carrying

-The Japanese Seawing bomber is able to transform into a submarine simply by falling into the water

-Sea battles will be crucial in this game

-The Japanese will have a water based tank called "Tsunami" which is both heavily armoured and powerful, and slower on land than in water

-The campaign can be cooperatively played with a friend from start to finish. If there's no one to play it with, you can choose between an array of AI allies to fight the war

-Starcraft 2's lead designer worked on RA3 before he went to Blizzard

-Gameplay will be much slower, an aspect, along with the beta, that the team concluded from Tiberium Wars. The writer confirms this slowdown.

-Enemy soldiers freeze upon Allied dogs barking

-The Mobile V4 is able to swim as well, but its main draw points is the precise and area effective attack.

-The Russians' submarine, the Stingray Nasad, sports Tesla-launchers, and is a rather small, but fast unit

-The writer praises the smooth animations, explosion effects and water in general again and again, its crazy!

-Live action FMVs are back mixed with CGI and outdoor scenes

-The writer holds that Red Alert 3 wont be as good as Starcraft 2, but damn close, and even better than Red Alert 2

-No Yuri

-Atmosphere is top notch

-Expansion pack is already planned



All I can say is that it all sounds good! :p

The Navy stuff makes me think that they are just trying to make up for the fact that every C&C game after Red Alert 2 didn't allow Navy units.
