Easter Eggs

Hi all,

I know saying that I have not been active is an understatement at the very least, but have still been working on something that has taken a little more time than I thought it would. It's not a really big secret and I've posted some screens of it already, though it's been worked on extensively. I appreciate all the posts and I've been reading through them all.

Back on topic, with the focus I've been having on the fortress and in my life I wanted to finally get to some of the easter eggs I've been planning. Each one of them I'm adding in game - you won't have to change any ini's to get them to work. Just have to know how to unlock them. I'll also be tying them to the CaHs enabled. If you enable CaHs the easter eggs will be enabled.

To give you an idea of the type of eggs I've been thinking about, I've always referenced doing an Aragorn mounted on a purple scorpion and other crazy nonsense so I thought I'd show Aragorn's mount. (I've fixed the Rohan Aragorn's mount animations for Blademaster and elendil also.)



So let me know what kind of just fun stuff you'd like to see added in game as easter eggs and as I mod I'll through some things in there that just to have fun.

i d like to see ( if its possible ) a goblin warior mounted on the big fire drake ( that gobs have in normal bfme as fortress up )
( i got this idea some time in ma head and it looks pretty funny, small goblin on drake )


or if its possible, ghosts ( from summon ghosts ) or wights riding on flood horses

Just curious of why you don't think they should be in?

They are meant to be used as levity, to add fun to the mod. (Also to give me and anyone else whose helping a break to do something fun.) In my view almost all really competetive matches are done without CaHs, so with them being tied to that there it would not allow them to be used in any competitive situation or tourneys. Also, they are stuff that normally are not in the playable game, but you have to unlock them just for fun. Imagine you have to build 4 different units/structures with each of them having a hidden keystroke that unlocks a portion of the easter egg. Then you have to build the unit and know the correct keystroke(s) to activate it. Some of them might be a boost (like a mounted Aragorn), but others could be stricly visual. (Playing mordor and the easter egg is switching gandalf model out for the witchking, etc.)

These strictly are meant to add fun to the game in skirmish mode, allowing me and others to just mess around with things to mix up the tedium of creating 20+ models in order to finish one fortress. I'll go ahead and turn this into a poll for you though. To let you in on how I feel, if this were something that was supposed to be a part of the inherint mod, I'd recoil at the idea of Aragorn riding a scorpion or frodo flying a fellbeast, or gandalf riding a spider. It's just completely wrong, which I think makes it perfect for easter eggs.

p.s The only argument I know that would work against them is: "Stop this playing around and get back to the mod!" I can understand this, but to that I'd just say that if you want me to finish the mod I need to take these breaks and have fun and merriment or I'll go crazy.
