Yeah, they start with one, but that doesn't explain the second one or how they got it so fast. But I think I solved it simply by putting required space station to level 6.

The AI always cheats with SSDs. They are capable of bypassing credit requirements and such to mass build them. And they aren't easily destructible, so you can't widdle them down. Here's how you handle it though: Add Wedge Antilles to every campaign, then make it so Lusankya builds really fast, really cheap. SSD vs SSD generally means you win if you aim all fighters on the SSD.

I agree that they cheat with SSD and Soverigns (ive seen two of each on ONE planet). but I'd rather not fight that fight at all. Simplest plans are usually the best ones, but by far the simplest is kitkun's idea. So, did makng space station requirements level 6 stop the AI from building it?

No, oddly enough. I'm still checking, but it seems if I remove the lifetime build limit, that might actually work...

You could also go with the comical approach and make them unable to attack and give them the health of a Tug, then remove their fighters and skyrocket the price so the AI wastes more, and even change it so they target ALLIED ships. Hahah, that'd be hilarious...

I got attacked by four Sovereigns and an Executor... but after adding the current build limit of 0 to the under the research, the Sovereign I, the upgrade, and the Sovereign II tags, and changing any required space station tags to 6, I could no longer build them, and haven't seen the AI use 'em. I win!

Oh, and Empire only starts with one Sovereign on Shadow Hand. Even in the XML.

... Jedi Mind Trick on the entire crew!

I like how my spell check is fine with the word Jedi...

Oh, and what's the difference between the Eclipse class Star dreadnaught and the Soverign Dreadnaught XML's? In game I mean.

I thought slicer tags had something to do with FoC, not PR... that tag is on several other ships as well.

I don't think the Eclipse XML is even used.

Hmm, I'm not sure either way on that sine I souldn't check EAW or FOC. But If and/or when we need to know, we'll know.

Oh, I almost forgot, I'm runng a full scale test (probably up to 100 weeks) just to be SURE the AI doesn't use either soverign or Exectutor anymore on kitun's idea. im up to abou 33 weeks on core worlds no and no signs of them yet.

Working with the planets.xml file, the notes seem to indicate that the slicer stuff has to do with Zann consortium.

Well, I didn't see 'em 'til about week 180, and then they sent 2 Sovereigns and an Executor, 10 weeks later, they sent 4 Sovereigns and an Executor... Before my latest changes, that is. Haven't seen any yet, can't build 'em if I choose Empire.
I actually had to remove the Executor as (Only with the AI), the game lagged horribly. :p
I think the AI may be trying to target each hardpoint individually...

No, I saw that earlier. I think it might have had somthing to do with R2/3P0.

He probably left it intending to use it in the future.

You could try to change the Lua files (remove or change the Executor build priotities) I'll look into that.

That's what I though. I had an idea. You could change it to lock the initial build, then edit the imps tech tree so the research/upgrades don't do anything.

I'm up to week 114, no sight of an SSD or a soverign, but I'm using the Zarkis AI pack and ,tho I don't see how this would effect it, Dalmp's Acestic pack, but while th AI does upgrade, thaey only upgrade once, but probably because they like to send swarms of Victory II's, Impstar duce's,and Venator-I's at me, (like 8 victory's, 9 Impstars, and aways 2 venators) Every once in a while they'll throw in about 20 lancers.

Well, your plan seems to be working. Still, I bet your bombers love that.

And that's why I hate bombers :/ They are OP so much that after a while each battle gets repetitive :( Hope that capital ship auto-healing feature will somewhat adress this problem.

Yeah, don't forget to make the upgrades for SSDs unbiuldable too.
Hey let's upgrade this ship with all the most expensive tech!
But we don't have any of those ships and can't get any!
Who cares!?

The AI was never upgrading at all for me, then one time, I'm beating down all their weak plain MC80 ships like usual, and Bam! MC80cs appear and take out a huge chunk of my fleet...

Pfft. It may be foolproof, but is it me-proof?
Really, it actually took me a day to realise I needed to edit the file to remove them...

Now THAT is how the game should be played. The AI lulled you into a false sense of security, and BAM! annilated you. Wish my AI was that smart

Unfortunately, me too. That was certainly one of the most fun (And challenging) games. It's just that it almost never upgrades still...
