What would be nice is if we could have AI actually learn from it's mistakes. Yesterday I faced an unescorted MC120, and destroyed it with no losses.Unfortunately, me too. That was certainly one of the most fun (And challenging) games. It's just that it almost never upgrades still...Now THAT is how the game should be played. The AI lulled you into a false sense of security, and BAM! annilated you. Wish my AI was that smart

But you could program a computer for something like "if Plan A Fails, Then try plan C, D or F," or, "if Plan A fails because of too many enemy fighters, then Try plan C, R, or X, But if it failed because of enemy capships, Try Plan D, F, or G" or something like that

Heck, it might have been coinicence, but when I left Muunlinst unguarded, a large fleet of Bulwarks and MC-120s appeared to take advantage of the absence.

Ditto. When I have only a few planets, the AI will continuously attack only the weakest planet until it falls.It's not a coincidence. AI compares its units combat values against your unit combat values (and diff level) to evaluate it's chance for successful strike. Obviously it can be easily abused by player by withdrawing most units from system with strong stationary defences, and then moving them back once enemy fleet approaches, closing the trap...
