Yea thought this thread needed updating so I asked :thumbsupsmiley: I'm not RS staff I just show him DR stuff he shows me RS stuff also have voxel trades time to time like that FL double barreled tank has the body from the Western alliance liberator tank

Nearing...well yes but got quite some features to develop yet as part of the complex design which i think is overboard complex even for me to try finish :)

I have been working on RS all the way since 1.99 2005 late release ...Youtube has videos to showcase progress thru the last few years to current day.

Is that a really dumb joke, or are you seriously that smart?
My video card burned out and I have been playing YR and TS with various mods using my pathetic onboard gpu. FAR from a supercomputer. This mod runs smooth with 8 brutal AIs. That's more than can be said for most mods out there.

Heh, good thing 2.0 adds whole new level of optimization along the detail slider having noticeable effect. :p

So I dont think there is need for super computer at all :)

Seriously? This mod runs great as it is. I can play a match with 7 brutals and it won't lag. Any more than 3 brutals on MO and the game starts slowing down a bit.

Yes, 1.99 didnt run enough smooth online and there is a BIG difference between offline and online performance so 2.0 will do everything possible to maintain playable game even online while lag is never totally unavoidable, just the seriousness of it can be amended.

Well a bit of both ;). Its a joke, but also a jibe at 2.0's insane graphical effects and gigantic buildings, and etc etc, as Apollo knows.

I've been playing RS older versions for a loooong time.

I don't know how much new sound you're planning to add in this, Apollo, but I just thought I'd let you know about one little thing with audio.bag and audio.idx.

These two files have a limit to either the number of new sounds and/or the file size. I know this because I have a 270MB audio.bag file with hundreds of 48KHz sounds in it, and I can't add any more. I don't think you guys are gonna have this problem, but I just felt I needed to let you know this. I wouldn't want you to suffer this problem.

Apollo and any other modders, please take this into account if you do not know already.

BTW, the mod that has this 270MB audio.bag file will not be released under any circumstances, the whole mod is about 908MB. It's called FutureTech's Fury. Simply made for my own entertainment purposes.

Just sharing my status as a non-professional modder as well.

Heh i figure you took sounds form ra3 then (48khz) and PCM...they take tons of space as PCM, if you'd compress with IMA using 22050 or 32000khz, would half the size more or less, in case of RS, all the audio is compressed...else it would be too insane like yours :closedeyes:

Just a note, IMA compressing frequencys only go up to 32000khz (mono/stereo work fine), higher freqs are not played by the game except when its uncompressed PCM WAV.

In your case its likely just the filesize of bag causing issue.
