Please don't fully quote post, its a little pointless at times, Anyway.

One issue is its a building so it might not be able to "pack up", How ever we could change it so when you destroy it via the delete function if gives you a builder which can move and build else where, Also we can have the builder be removed after its finished being built so it would be 1 builder per building essentially.


Whoops, forgot to get rid of the quotes, but my faction's in there ;) It just isn't in red this time :p

As for the buildings, do whatever u like and works :)

I like the idea of factions based on ancient religion or mythology. An Atlantis faction might be cool.

I think a Chinese or Asian-inspired faction would be cool, too.

One of my favorite features in AoM was a moving resource drop off structure. It was very annoying when you build a lumber camp next to the trees and then your workers cut down all the trees in the area and are then running across the map to other trees and you have to buy a new structure. This was not a problem with the ox carts. I think this is a very good idea, but to have any buildings moving at will seems a little overpowered. Maybe only some buildings.

They wouldn't be able to make units while mobile, so I don't see a problem, and it's not as though they'd be fast or armored.

Im thinking of making a tank champion one that has only got 1 or 2 offensive spells and you actually mount your archers on board, but I'm wondering how I might be able to have the archers on it die so you have to restock the archers on it or something

I don't wanna have the greek gods in thier, I do like the idea of using Greek mythology and other things, How ever I don't think we should do anything that would re-make that Titan RTS game

First i have to ask, what categories are now taken? You say the undead faction is taken, so with all these new peoples factions, what role are they taking up?

The only thing i have really been able to pick up from reading is everyone seems to be doing nomads...

so, i ask, what factions 'types' have been taken up now?

Probably nomads have been taken, If there's to many nomad factions we'll have to scrap some of them and combine the best ones

Ones that don't follow a consistent theme in there faction will unfortunately be modified or scrapped, It would be weird to have a champion as a tank from WW2 and soldiers from the times of Neapolian, so if dojob could fix that, Thad be great

Maybe make a nazi faction... but what would a Nazi champion look like...

Also I should add details in the first post about the champions so people may hafto edit there post.
I should of posted it earlier but it didn't occur to me.

I'm not doing any zombies and any raise from crypts, I'm keeping my idea away from WC3's undead faction and I'm going with a more Hellish theme, IE lost trapped and trapped souls, sacrificial alters and other daemonic stuff.

Good, the RTS genre needs more badassery anyways :p The Chaos faction from DoW would be good inspiration for such a faction, aside from the guns and lasers ofc :)

And about the tank hero, u said u could do it like this:

Perhaps you could base it on mumakil, which have open archers on them?

About the faction:

Name of faction
The Purge
((i actually came up with this name for a faction in my RPG, but as it seems that is going to die out, so i think it can fit this faction nicely))

History - Not required
The Purge is a holy order of men, which has recently gained power and influence, although it has lurked in the background of humanity for eons. They see the emergence of the demonic/undead army(DIGI's faction) as the heralds of God will, to wipe the slate clean, and cleanse the world of all that are not worthy. They have convinced many that the only way to save themselves is to enact gods will, and take up arms in the fight to destroy the other races, who 'in Gods eyes are unclean', and must be Purged from his holy lands. They see Fire as holy, it is the bringer of light and warmth to its allies, and destruction to its enemies, it is gods gift and his servant, cleaning bushlands to start anew, just as he has decided to do with the people of his lands.
((so, basically they want to wipe out the others races and peoples of these lands))

Describe the themes -Units

all are dressed in 'holy' white robes/cloaks and silver or gold armor, you know, all "holy looking".

-Architecture

White stone/marble architecture, very much temple like in appearance and adorned with religious symbols and even golden statues, white pillars and stuff, with fire alters and stuff(they see fire as holy, so they are going to keep it around)

-Fanatisism: all units nearby gain attack and speed bonus, but loose some defense
-Holy Shield:
-Divine Judgment:
-Sanctuary Aura: creates a shield of flame around nearby units(making them invincible), at the cost of constantly loosing health while active
Description: should look like a priest, but he floats instead of walking, and is all on fire but not getting burned

Champion (God)
Fire Elemental(changed my mind, no fire colossus, but it is a giant fire spirit):
-Divine Purification/Cleansing (which sounds better?): creates a 'shockwave' of fire, kills enemies within radius
-Resurrection: brings friendly unit back to life
-Redemption: enemies turn to your side perminantly
-Retaliation Aura: damage is reflected(maybe even reflected many times the original damage?)

This mod was honored in the news article :D .

Great job. Just as a note, my faction is based on stealth and poison. All units are stealthed. Instead of the built-in upgrades, they would have poison arrows and poison blades, but not an armor upgrade.

I put that in as a suprise :lol:

DIGI and I were discussing the idea of a seperate Undead faction that would be more into Necromancy and Zombies and the like.
It's still an idea but I think it should advoid the RTS cliches and go more for the Movie cliches :D
With the undead looking more like those of a horror movie.

As for the website I was thinking I could do some Flash for the site for you DIGI I just had some cool ideas.
I'll tell you more tonight.

It might be interesting if this mod has no real 'good guy' faction.
most games have a set bad guy and good guy... what i have wanted to see is more a bad guy vs bad guy.

thats why my faction, although it opposes the demon faction, and is all holy, isn't actually good. Infact, they could be seen as quite bad because of what they want to do.
(speaking of which, i need to change them a bit to make them seem less 'good' with their spells and stuff...)


and yeah, i want to see an undead faction and a demon faction, having both would be cool :D

Yeah, it's kinda cheesy and corny when the good guys don't have some little bit of badness like bigotry or overzealousness.

I'd like it if the evil faction had less zombies/skeletons and more fanatical cultists and crazyass demons and sorcery.
