In the old 1.99, I do find Centurion to loose to both unless backed by a dozen of repairing Con Yard(which every respectable NEXUS should have) simply because of the promoting system. Decimator and Devastator inevitably gain ranks in the battles. The vehicle crushing is not too useful because of the high firepower+splash damage of these super-units. Since the multiple Con Yard trick SEEMS to be removed in 2.0 and the price reducing effect of the robotic plant is reduced, do we see buffed Centurion?
Spy infiltration (although not a simple task) adds to the disadvantage of Centurion
Another remotely related question, what will be the major selling points of NEXUS? In 1.99, it's the crazy stacking self-repair stacking compounded with units like predators, Zephyr Drone, things that increase in strength exponentially with number. AKA, unending tides of machine.
AL has high speed, high damage (especially air).
FL has crude but efficient shock units to cause immense damage.
Osiris gets hulking expensive superior units.
Nexus, vehicle hacking? Shroud creating defenses? Tough base? Extremely long-range base artillery?
Well, clearly I'm a NEXUS fan but I am not asking these to complain that NEXUS are underpowered or need buff. No, that would be whining without playing the game. I would just like to understand more about the concept of this great faction in the best mod of RA2.

Has no name afaik, its quake track assumng we talking of same vid.
I'm not questioning the balance of the game, I just want to know more about the design of the game.

Okay okay, most of the assumptions around here fans make are somewhat wrong as some still think along 1.99 style like devastator/decimator/centurion utterly trash infantry, 2.0...nope..is just as hard to kill as it is for that particle cannon in the videos so better use those more anti-inf units but of course massed super unit eventually kill but it aint efficient.
Nexus is more refined this time around and the core provides the infantry heal/repair and i may allow multiple cores to stack that up so nexy can inf spam to nice effect and machinery plant provides the vehicles map wide repair but only one plant is buildable and it also provides defenses price reduction and infantry price reduce, termi cloning too and grinding of units as well money income.
Right who cares? when human factions get super unit elite its GG? ...not this time around as new principle of common sense dictates..the more high tech/costly units the less they can upgrade themselves, old 1.99 2x improvement was silly for high end units... thus nexus can compete now and theres more meaning for lower level units use
as for standard units, they gain normal 100% improvement with elite status so betting on the super units alone may be your undoing this time around.
Nexus Hack Towers create shroud yes to make nexus base assault harder and fan favorite Laser Turret gains firepower the longer it is focused on targets and same applies for Zephyr drone and its Gattling Laser system and of course there are then the technology branches for nexus also... Hacking branch being the lovely mess up enemy units or take them over tactics or pick the heavy plasma weapons branch to walk enemy over with or just screw high tech weapons and hacking efforts and instead focus in mass production of hover & infantry hordes with reduced prices and such bonuses.
Nexus= side for spamming fest like always and yes Centurion is most effective versus infantry due to its pinpoint laser compared to Devs/Decims/Ontoses.
Of course all nexus units have the standard self heal system

In 1.99 the Centurion was the best unit in the game.. it literally just walked over everything and thus other factions are buffed to make sure the Cent is roughly equal to the rest although the Centurion is still superior to the human capital units. Not to mention the Centurion has some of the best AA of the lot.
Hack towers prevents nearly all spies entering warfacts if placed next to a war factory so by the time it chronophases it'll be took over and you can use your own spies with his transport to get his special tech (one being NEXUS' special Centurions). He might not expect you doing this. The shroud generation due to radar interference means it acts as a deterrent when enemy forces and spy stuff is concerned. If he comes with a spy anyway just have a Terror Drone on standby.
Nearly all of NEXUS' forces are flexible, they can traverse water terrain meaning a NEXUS player will have an advantage over the others where water is concerned, allowing hard to get areas to get snagged by NEXUS' flexibility. He lacks a navy however but he makes up for this with his basic tanks which can cross water although the enemy navy might be superior to some of his stuff so the NEXUS player has to be aware of how the naval battle is going also. His tactics mostly rely on spamming with deviousness, flanking, map control and big units/advanced+basic spam to demolish the enemy. Hacking acts as a really good defence against rushes and infiltration. His bases are also tough with the laser turrets doing anti-infantry, anti-tank and anti-air effectively when en-masse. Long range howitzers through tech also soften the enemy and possibly as a siege weapon.
Apollo mainly hits all points on the head.

I still want 2.0 so I can beat up "superior" osiris units with speedy aircraft.
Bored.

it would be you have to own every building off every team and infiltrate battle lab, war factory and barracks of every team also
He would be over powered even then
(you would build chuck noris and the computers would all just surrender straight away.... they know when they're beaten)
