Ok, im not an official member of the mod as of yet at least, but i think its time the public make there opinion. Should the team release what they have now as a beta, or should they hold off to give us a smoother more polished experience?

Let's put it another way - which would you rather have?

A beta with models that have some instances where their animations are broken, their textures don't work properly, Space Marines share the Dark Angels color scheme and the banners on the objective points don't work, and models that just plain fall apart when they run in some cases...

...or a more polished beta?

Look guys, just because I'm not doing anything on the mod and have effectively left the team (partly because I've done what I can do and there isn't anyway I can move the mod forward imo) doesn't mean the public should start baying for blood and demanding a release.

The remaining members of the team will get the mod back on track and get some new personnel to move the mod forward. But the 3D side of things really does need to be sorted, even if only a little, before anything is released.

You've all been patient until now so just be patient for some more time, remember the Tyranids mod took years to even get to the stage it's at, and it's not even complete, and it's better than the DoW 2 version by Relic. :crazed:

ah, i understand you point raven, but i have already begun discussion with thudo about aiding this mod as far as texture goes. And im not baying for blood, yet, i just think the public needs to see that this mod isnt just flopping around like a fish :good:

I understand where both of you are coming from and believe that the public should wait for a more polished version and the team should continue only giving the unpolished version to beta testers. In order to give the mod more progress.

Yeah Job #1 is to assess all current DA 3d assets and understand whats moving forward? I need a good team leader to go over each one like we did @ the ThousandSons and other mod project otherwise sh*t won't get done in a timely manner and we'll just roam as headless chickens into the Cauldron of Fail. :p

Just to clarify, even tho as a member of the general public would say, "we want a polished model to play with" something like what the Adepta Sororitas mod did, releasing a mod beta with only the fully functional units available. just a thought, but i do say that the polished mod would look the best when measured against the mod team.

The thing is DarkAngels has ALOT of stuff compared to WitchHunters.. We need to got through the existing DA mod build in a VERY detailed manner so the 3d people can make sh*t happen. Whose gonna detail each part of the mod from Tier0 through the 3 distinct branches? We need to sit as a group and run through the build showing what needs to be done.

For me: the Company Branch needs a little more love just because of the 3 Unique Heroes.. I would recommend taking existing vanilla Terminator + Librarian models and merging em together to create your awesome heroes.

BUILDING NEW AND COMPLETE MODELS FROM SCRATCH IS NOT an option -- it would take too long and the look would not be consistent. Its better to merge models!

Everyone and their left testicle is dying to see such things as a proper looking Master of the Ravenwing OR a Terminator Librarian.

LETS GET THIS DONE!!!!!
