I asked for them to be banned a while back, but no one's done it. So yeah, we're stuck with them for the time being.

I would have banned this Goabo-whatever bot but I can't figure out how... I'm sure I've done this before, though. How does one go about banning someone?
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Log into the ACP, find member, edit member, set primary member group to "Banned". Voilà.

Bots are Necromancers now... we must fight back with counter measures to prevent the machines from taking the site from us!

... How do they get passed the 'type what the picture shows' test in the first place?

Well, either they are good, or there's a human behind it.

I have a defunct forum related to a site I control. Nobody visits anymore, but it has an excellent CAPTCHA. Every week, an account will sign up and make three posts. One is a copy/paste introduction post, and the other two are either copy/pastes as well, or in rare cases they are the following: A post replying to a topic, with actual relevant statements, that no bot could create.

There are humans doing these, no idea why, as half the time they can't even get the signature as a link correctly.
