I'll start:
At koninginnedag (queens day) there was an attack on the Dutch queen by using a car, but it failed and instead killed several other people. Footage of this was broadcasted on television, but now there are people here who claim they were 'shocked' by the footage, and are therefore 'justified' to claim money voor 'schokschade' (shock damage?).

Well your problem was simple friend... you were using military time.Last week I went to see a fireworks show at 23:00. I left at 22:40, and it was going to be a 5km trip. While driving there, I could see the finale in the sky ahead. Yes, they started about half an hour too soon...

In the Netherlands (and possibly the rest of Europe excluding Brittain, dunno) military time is the official and most-used notationWell your problem was simple friend... you were using military time.
It makes sense. If a day has 24 hours, give them 24 numbers. Otherwise why not divide an hour in 4 quarters? 14:27 -> 2 PM 12 2Q (2 pm, 12 second quarter)
And it saves us two characters on our clocks, watches, computers, etc.

What's a wanker, by the way? Brits say it all the time, but I'm afraid to ask since their weird word definitions are usually dirty.
I vent my anger over weird words.
