In my history of playing this game/mod, I noticed that the heroes, units, and buildings are too weak. I mean, since when can a group of human archers reduce a lair to rubble in less than ten seconds? This mod NEEDS to have realism. Adding it will not copy SEE, but will make this mod just as realistic. SEE is not the official and one and only realism mod, in fact, my mod will as well be adding realism to the game. Anyway, this is about the RJ mod, and I don't want any posts to be unrelated to the RJ mod's lack of realism. :p

It depends on how realistic you're trying to go, since somethings just need to be unrealistic to be fun and balanced, like buildings (at least farms) being weak and vulnerable to quick raids.

while realism certainly has a place in the game, one should not make it more important than gameplay. if the mod reduces the fun of the game rather than enhances it, then it makes no difference how realistic it is.

Yeah, my games with CTLN are always hella boring and drawn out unless I do something ridiculous ;)

It's just that I wanted to do something about whenever I go to play against an Easy army, they're already sending a huge army to my base before anyone is allowed to give money to each-other. By the way, Elves have Ents, which should be enough. Buildings should only go down in seconds with siege weapons, and only melee units should have the ability to tear down buildings at all, which should take a certain amount of minutes to tear down...

I don't enjoy storming enemy base longer than 30 min. :thumbsupsmiley:

and too much realistic totally destroy rush game.

Usually TrebSPAM can be Balanced with Coding that makes them MISS A Bit
Most Mods use this now ...Its even more realistic

IMO : A Really good game should be 30min to 1 hr

Yup but i mean if it only took longer than 1hour to siege enemy base it won't be so fun(in my opinion). :thumbsupsmiley:

True , my bro gave up networking /multiplayer when our games lasted 3hrs :thumbsupsmiley:

But ON TOPIC : There are ways to add realism without being boring

Like upgrades that cost more but protect allot
Archers with greater RELOAD time
Heroes with a bit more health
Buildings that cost more and are stronger (like $5000 Armory)
Walls that are way stronger but with relatively weak gates
A maximum limit on the amt of Wall Hubs so you have a Smaller compound
rather than 3 sets of walls that crumble at eh sight of an enemy

Good idea though..they must be some way to used them with rush game..i don't prefer rush game but maybe sometime on multiplayer. :thumbsupsmiley:

A rush game still works as there must be BALANCE ...
One player can decide on 15 Hordes with no upgrades OR
10 Hordes with some upgrades OR 5 Hordes with ALL upgrades
It would take approx the same amt of time and money ....

But the results may be different ...
Upgrades are good for protecting the units as if they were your friends eg King Theoden cares for his few servants
No upgrades are for if you are Saruman who is heartless :thumbsupsmiley:

At the end you see units created Few / Lost Few
OR units created many / Lost Many

As long as resource buildings are inexpensive and easy to kill, then there will still be raid/rush gameplay :thumbsupsmiley:

Not if you decrease their radius and make walls stronger
I usually give just enough starting money to build a good Defensive Perimeter
so once the compound goes up you are safe until you decide to build a gate
to get out and attack !

The farms stay within the compound !

No one can RUSH YOU except with the Flying units or the Palintir Powers
and then you just create archers or towers for protection

The walls were just too weak IMO !

But then again I have never USED Rush Tactics....
I usually attack when I am Maxed out CP and Unit Upgrades

Another Suggestion :

I made the Fortress REALLY STRONG 200000 HP
So that even a full army takes 5 min to destroy

AND I allow ONE TYPE of unit built at each Fortress
so that even if ALL your buildings are Destroyed and heroes are dead
you still have a fighting chance with Fortress units ...

The fortress is usually $ 30000 so any one will take a good while getting
another and so you usually just PROTECT THE ONE YOU HAVE !

No to making archers stronger. SOME PEOPLE (Looks at CTLN) can make an army on archers, upgrade them, and utterly own ALL ARMIES INCLUDING MASSED CAVALRY. MASSED CAVALRY. THE ONE THING THAT IS SUPPOSED TO TAKE OUT MASSED ARCHERS.
