Name: Eyvindar
Age: 50
Gender: Male
Race: Half-Elf, Half-Human
Weapons: Twin katana and a naginata. He'll sometimes wield a single katana or a katana and the naginata. He also carries several shuriken on his person. He employs battle magic and healing magic. He is a jack-of-all-trades, but he is a master of none.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Class: Jack of all trades
Height: 5'10''
History: Born into a rather wealthy merchant family, Eyvindar got the best life had to offer. At sixteen, he grew bored of the easy lifestyle he had been living and left home. He wandered around, learning several magical and martial arts, mainly through experimenting, although sometimes by watching another practice the art. He work several times with a group of mercenaries, often acting as a healer after a battle is done. Around age twenty five, he left the mercenaries, and sought a job in a city. Here, he made a few friends, one of whom was a tavern keeper, giving him a generally reliable source of information in many nearby towns. Now, he goes to seek adventure, and is willing to join any party willing to accept his blades.
Alignment: Chaotic good

Seems fine to me, although I'm not sure I understand why you're killing off Vithar to replace him with a character that seems, in essence, exactly the same. Japanese weapons, mastery thereof, some magic and generally a good bloke. I was under the impression that you'd be going in for something totally different. Like, a peg-legged crackpot dwarf with Alzheimers. ;)
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

I'm going to consider him a work in progress for a bit...he's not as versatile as I had intended...

Give him mastery of the Grey Magics - not demonic, not light, but a good balance of both. This way, he could heal well and do crazy amounts of demonic damage.

I say change him entirely. Go for something way outside your comfort zone and see if you can make it work. What you like is Japanese weapons and the concept of honour and whatnot, so I suggest you go for something entirely different. A rather dubiously moralled deathknelf perhaps, or a gnome with a crossbow and remarkably little skill therewith. It's fun to try something different.

Another Deathknelve would be nice  Something where you suddenly figure out who Tom is would be so sweet. You start off like "It's the ghost of Tom Joad!" and then you shit your pants a few pages of posts later and you're like "z0mGzzzz!!1! It's the fallen king!"

Even your TST human character was Japanese...

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

I had the meaning of life in my signature, but it exceeded the character limit.

That's because he was Japanese. This guy's not...however, I have a certain dislike for amoral characters. A lot of it stems from a certain inability to see their point of view, as well as my upbringing...As bs-y as it sounds. As fun as it might be...he'd simply not do...well...amoral stuff.

I might consider going for an extremely versatile rather than focused character. So, I think that making him a deathknelve would make him more combat oriented than I would like.

Hmm...for the sake of versatility, I might consider the Grey Magic idea, if I'm allowed to.

I say go all out. Just give being a bastard a try

I mean, not like you get the chance to be some murding heartless bastard in real life, so playing around with a persona outside your own can be quite fun.

Maybe your guy could be a Vyre, or Meld. They just got given 'humanity' and so you could be the first player to RP as one. You could be a minotaur, or a full furya. Or even a dwarf or gnome or yes, a deathknelve. Elves and humans seem to be in abundance already.

You could make your person a thief and a criminal, maybe try adding some humor into the mix as some self-serving swindler whose good at getting his own way, or as a complete incompetent who flukes his way through life and still somehow manages to come out on top. Or be the worlds unluckiest man with all this bad stuff always happening to you.

Also you could try playing the opposite sex, add another female to the group, or being an incredibly overweight person, or maybe be black, we have no black people in the group and we wouldn't want to be racists, now would we? :xd:

Just free yourself, and have fun, playing as the same type of character all the time just gets boring, create a character that you can enjoy.

I'd love to do that and all, but because of a close-minded personality, I find it hard to be able to do much beyond what I do. It doesn't help that I've pretty much been close mind for all of my life so far. Perhaps I'd be able to break out if I had know a larger variety of people far better than I actually do.

And, I'd never run an overweight person. One reason is personal, and the other...Fat people don't go adventuring.

Hmm...perhaps there is something else I can try, depending...

Maybe he could be a really fat mage? Like, absolutely grossly obese, I'm thinking here. And black. And wears nothing but a loincloth, chuckles at inappropriate moments and likes to read the future in the entrails of everything he kills, but isn't very good at it. Then again, he does have some pretty powerful real magic. Although he is a complete wacko.

Go to Tome of Libera.

Read the Deathknelve section.

Look at the Soulfyre and Shadowblade clan description (I would prefer if you stayed away from the Soulfyre clan just to let Tom be awesome but oh well).

Look at the Weaver description (in bold).

Become a Deathknelven Mage gifted in the Grey Magics.

I just realised we completely forgot the Drow even existed in Arsencia, you could have your character be a Drow!
