Finally returning back to the Phoenix Rising team I bring you the planet Despayre. A planet filled with a Wookie slave work force and treacherous jungles making most invasion forces think twice before attempting to land on such a dangerous planet. Despayre was also home to a penal colony for the Galactic Empire. The shipyard at Despayre became home to the construction of the Empire's ultimate weapon, eventually installed into the Death Star. The Empire heavily restricted traffic to the system to keep the weapon program a secret from the galaxy.

Ultimately, the planet was destroyed in a test of the Death Star's main gun. Operating at merely 1/3 of it's full potential the gun from the Death Star turned a planet full of swamps and jungles into a molten, smoldering rock floating in space. Eventually as the tests continued the planet was completely blown to bits by order of Grand Moff Willhum Tarkin, who personally oversaw the construction of the Death Star's main gun on several occasions.

Brought to life in Phoenix Rising, you are sure to think twice before attempting to launch a ground assault on such a bog-ridden and overgrown planet.

Is it sure to bring us to the point of despayre? ;)

<DevXen> Today I was at the store and saw a Darth Vader action figure that said "Choking Hazard." It was great.

All ground maps should be at maximum size methinks, because the maps are small as is.

Good work, I just hope that's the case, and we eventually get to re-do some of the other maps so we can have decent ground battles...

...oh yeah, and we need to make the camera non-claustrophobic on the ground, it needs a better zoom without turning into that annoyingly limited birds-eye view at max.

Don't worry, I have a lot more time on my hands than I used to..

As such I will be spending a lot of my time doing mainly what we as a team feel is necessary to make the mod a better experience for everyone (including myself xD).

As for the size, I agree, however I'm only one man lol. I do feel that the size of the maps for all the custom worlds I've completed so far has been sufficient though I think? I am taking into account that you probably don't want to spend over 1 hour conquering a planet when it only took you like 15 minutes to blast through their space defenses.

Though, there are a few maps that are redone vanilla worlds up my sleeve that I have been working on when I'm not busy with the team's main concerns. Expect bigger, badder, and more appealing worlds sometime in the future. ;)

It's easier to rescale all of the units and projectiles and such than it is to rescale all of the maps.

There will be a point though when we rescale things too much that the scenery will look silly by comparison.

Currently with Ghost's patch the resizing isn't too extreme.

Taking the easy way out may be...well, easier, but if we want this to be the best mod ever, we'll need to work hard.

That's all scalable too. It's not like the buildings were ever scaled accurately to begin with though...

Are you implying that we don't work hard :xcahik_:? We have one mapper... and I don't see anyone else stepping up in that regard.

I never could do any sort of mapping effectively. Any attempt that I made towards trying to become slightly competent ended in complete and utter failure. So I apologize for being useless in that regard. :xcahik_:

I'm not blaming anyone, but I think we need to be realistic in our expectations.

Absolutely not.

Was speaking specifically, not in general.

Yeah, I know. I think I'm just a little stressed right now, so sorry for that.

Just if I had modding skills and the know-how I'd go for everything.

Probably my OCD; it makes me a perfectionist.
