I'm doubtful whether that post is ironic or not. Just to be sure, let me explain what we have explained a hundred times already.
"Promotions" as you call them are not handed out as awards or recognitions of service. They are given to able people who are willing to work for Revora, regardless of how long they have been here.

The problems don't come with gaining power, but with losing it. Who knows, attempting to strip away ones badge might lead to a revolution and eventually a military junta in charge of Revora.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

The reason a high proportion of Revorans have some moderator status is that Revora is a large network with a lot of projects going on, which therefore take a lot of people. Everybody has a reason to be here, and most people want to help with that reason, so it makes sense. The problem is the kind of people who want to get promoted just for the badge and the rank, though happily we don't have too many of those.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Meh, I'd love to have admin CP access again just to be able to alter my own projects forums etc, but I dont want the responsibilty of being admin. Nicer badge too.The problem is the kind of people who want to get promoted just for the badge and the rank, though happily we don't have too many of those.

Yep Grim, you need a reason to be here. I originally came to Revora for the BfME mods, eventually joined RJ and AoM, but with the coma of the former and the death of the latter there isn't really much practical use for me to be here. But I'm still staying, since I've yet to find a better place of... Ash, how did you put it again? Can't find the words, but you were staying for the same reason as me. I think.
