Ring Hero bug

On the Minas Morgul map, I was playing as Isengard versus Elves (Hard AI) on beta 4.5

Some mithlond sentries killed gollum, and picked up the ring. I used saruman's wormtongue ability, took control of those mithlond sentries, and brought the ring back to my fortress. when i had 20000 resources, i built sauron....
except that he never showed up. i'm not sure how far into production he was, but some time after i started to build him, my fortress lost the ring, sauron never showed up, and i got my 20000 back.

i was really angry, because sauron was key to my strategy of sieging minas morgul. because i would have used him both to draw away the eagles' attention, i lost my 20 ballistas to eagles after only destroying 3 buildings. (my many battalions of crossbowmen with flaming arrows were incompetent, and my fellbeasts and dragon were taken out by arrows and eagles. smaug also destroyed like 1 building)

as you can tell, i would very much hope that this bug never happens again, so hopefully someone can figure out what caused it

I think it has do due with the fact that you delivered the ring with corrupted units.

yeah. i killed gollum and delivered the ring to the fortress with sharku (later in the same game) and i was able to build sauron. and i won

i also think it has to do with the fact that i corrupted those units, because they had a "time remaining" timer, so maybe sauron stopped building and i lost the ring after those mithlond sentries went back to the good side.

This also happend to me and I believe that it is gollum who is to blame. But you should ask the SEE team, I think that gollum can 'steal' the ring from the owner, don't know if YOU are able to do that if you control gollum and the enemy has the ring, or that he does it out of him selve. Like I said, it happend to me as well but I didn't use corrupted men ^^ . Just my own nazgul.

Once you have the Ring, another team can take control of Gollum and use him to steal it. He then becomes a neutral unit again.
