No, the sad truth is that some people honestly believe I'm trolling when I say things like that. I know sarcasm doesn't translate very well in a wall of text. That's why, unless i can make it blindingly obvious, I don't do it. I just stick to blatant insults instead.

Yeah, well, I live in an extremely conservative rural area where people actually believe that. Like, a lot of people honestly think that all Muslims are terrorists, Obama is one, and that in the Qur'an it tells them to kill all non-Muslims. It drives me insane, and I tend to overreact when people make anti-Islamic comments. So sorry about that.

I've found that the muslims 'bible' is actually more scientifically accurate than the christian bible. Well i was looking at the creation stories, so atleast in them anyway..
For instance the christian bible says god made the earth/universe in 6 days(plus 1 day of rest), (thus making sunday a 'holy day of rest' because it was when god rested after creating the world), while the muslims one says allah made it in six 'periods' (saying: "a day whereof the measure is a thousand years of your reckoning"), so not days as we know them, but long periods of time.
It also talks of how the heavens were smoke and that he made the smoke come together, which is quite similar to the scientific explanation of stars and planets forming from gas, as indeed you may describe gas as 'smoke' to primitive man so that they can understand it.
And theres a bunch of other stuff that genesis gets wrong while the muslims version avoids these inaccuracies, i was actually quite surprised, but i guess if you're interested you can search for them yourself.

Likewise. Said passage exists - we had an assembly or Islam a few months back, pointing to the specific section advocating the brutal murder of non-believers. Yet, the justification was that it was only necessary at the time, much like Churchill's speech which stated that the Brits will fight the Germans on the beaches, in the hills etc. - is that still relevant? No. It's only history, after all.please,don't talk about something you don't know about....,because religions don't have anything to do with killing the non followers of it
So while the Qu'ran does appear to call for the killing of infidels, it is not meant to be followed any more - the subtle redundancies of religious texts, which leads to misinterpretations and subsequent extremism.
