Some of you want original size infantry, some want it resized. You now have your chance to vote resizes in or kick them out. Vote in the poll available in the right sidebar.

Posted Image

Oh, and if you're interested in the results of the previous poll, about game modes - cooperative was definitely the winner. You want coop? You'll get coop. You want Art of Defense? You'll get Art of Defense.

EDIT: This is a picture I took from recent beta. It showcases original Centurion, updated Rhino Tank, Apocalypse Tank, Conscript with size reduced by 10%. Rest is untouched. Grizzly Tank is to be replaced as well, but you can have a comparison with the original stock voxel.

In case downsized infantry is the winner, I'll try my best to do the conversion and edits keeping as many details as possible. Vote and stay tuned for more updates!

How about considering the normal - assuming from the beta screenshots, currently that's used - as basic and releasing an addon pack with small infantry?

Drawback of that method: weapon firing locations will be incorrectly placed.

Art of Defense is pretty good for coop, I wouldn't worry too much about coop. And now that that business is done I can move on to infantry. As far as I can tell, the small infantry were just blobs of pixels, sure you could make out some detail, but they didn't help the game any. I would say if people really want pixelated infantry, resize the infantry a little bit, but not to that extreme.

I´ll admit that I voted for 2.0 size. Since the infantry pack would be "buggy" like Speeder said, I would preffer the "realistic" size. The mod has a darker look if compared to the "cartoonish" vannila and I said "WOW THIS MOD IS AWESOME" firstly for the infantry size when I played the mod for the first time.

i vote for the original YR infantry size. i think graphic for smaller troops can be an add-on (may be a separate patch).

Well, if a scaled-down pack isn't going to work, I'll lean over towards normal scaled infantry. Infantry out of proportion with vehicles? Nah. I'm sure our voxellers will take care of it. P:

Before this vote is ultimately decided I demand side by side pics of before and after of a couple of different types of infantry.

This will show the main point of this vote, loss of detail. Which is the main reason to not resize the infantry.

And seriously, what's with the scale issue. Its a damn video game. Next thing you know we'll have to add ammo for every unit. The comment that its unrealistic is a losers argument. The fact is that its a fictional game, hell, the game even takes place somewhere during the Cold War era. (I don't remember the exact date but it is on the Allied intro paragraph right now in the beta) It's before 2000, yet we have electric weapons, laser cannons, heat wave guns, holographic technology, mind control, stealth technology, genetic mutation weaponry, railguns, time travel, teleportation technology, shielding technology. Seriously, get over the fact that a single infantryman is little larger than he should be for detail purposes.

You forgot tesla bolt-throwing robot monkeys from space. :p

Silly jokes aside, I agree that a side-by-side comparison will be an excellent way to show the pros and cons of both scales.

For my input, do please read the comment I made in the voting site; I'm Dean.

Before this vote is ultimately decided I demand side by side pics of before and after of a couple of different types of infantry.

This would be fine.

Its a damn video game.

But in all fairness, this too is a loser's argument, since it doesn't touch on any issues some might have with a game in question.

It's before 2000, yet we have electric weapons, laser cannons, heat wave guns, holographic technology, mind control, stealth technology, genetic mutation weaponry, railguns, time travel, teleportation technology, shielding technology.

Besides, the reason all of that doesn't seem weird to us is because it's apart of an established continuity, while the miniature giants aren't. :p

Minus the Brute, though.

Gotta be small infantry for me, it just looks so much better. In my opinion they don't even lose detail considering the standard infantry arn't very detailed anyway (they're big and cartoony with lots of plain colour). If anything, because of the condensed size, smaller infantry are more detailed.

Gotta ignore my little rant there, but I don't think realism is a valid reason.

I see OmegaBolt's point, but the previous infantry were little more than blobs on the screen. Midway infantry would be ok, but not the size they were before.

Midway could be an option. I'd still like to see comparisons between the three though.
