I dont know if it was somewhere annouced here,
but I have just got to know that at 31st December and Midnight PDT EA servers for ROTWK, BFME2 and BFME1 will be shout down.
Here is source from GR.org]
Its not good news, and it wont make EA popular. They close last lotr games, but it is chance for mods, bored people will look for additions.
God bless that this game is moddable.

Yes, it sucks...
I still play this game online from time to time, and it's still fun to play this great game...
Despite being old and such, it never lost it's "magic" and feeling, which I love about it.
Sad that we won't be able to play it anymore.
But fortunately there are some solutions which could keep BFME alive, such as Hamachi or GameRanger.
For those who don't know GR: it's a program just like Hamachi, but it's safer and and simply better, try it out!

Not talking about us even though we are slowly dieing BFME community, people lose interest in mods and leave or have better things to do IRL or something. But the online community is already small as it is, average 100-160 people online during the week the lowest I've seen was like 10 people online and some where just sitting in the chat room. Now its going to decrease even faster. When I got the game it averaged around 150-300 people now look at what it is in just 3 years it lost atleast 200 people. I got the game in January of 07. I myself am losing interest in bfme since no one ever ever ever ever wants to play especially on here, I swear no one plays online on here or hamachi. I use to be in every hamachi network in here and people just join and never come online or never respond kinda dumb.

Because my computer crashed several months ago and deleted everything.

Thank goodness I'd already transferred all of my application data to my gaming computer... WHICH. HAS. NO. INTERNET. And since I have no more Hamachi, I no longer have any idea what networks to join. Heck, I don't even know where I should download Hamachi anymore. That's how brain-dead deprivation from your scintillating live conversation has made me. :good:

Sure. And the link for Hamachi.

Not quite sure if I can reinstall BFME 1 and TEA on this dinosaur, though... it's on its last legs as it is.

I've never played online tried once when I first got BFME2 but my internet sucked.
Maybe we should organise a final send off for online BFME and organise a few games with some of us here.
The 23rd and Xmas should be good for me as I'm off work.

Ooh maybe we can have a 4v4 on the Rhun map.
:good:

Hey Spartan do you often play the vanilla version online?
Once I download GameRanger we could play some games I think. :)
Seems like we both are the only ones here with (somewhat) decent online gaming experience.
