Eh, at the end of the day, the tea-party/extreme right-wing have lost one of their more annoying rhetorical tools to this shooting. Whenever they start trying to use that inflammatory speech now, someone is going to scream "Remember Tucson you buffoon!" and they are going to have a hard time keeping it up.

I agree that this person is unstable and probably could have killed anyone. It is a bit of a miracle that he didn't go shoot up his college. But it should be very apparent whose politic ideologies made it possible for him to get it done.

No, I'm pretty sure he's a politician.

I have to partially agree, and it's one of the reasons I'm glad we still have a monarchy: You need a figurehead that does all the bullshitty talky-talk snippy-snippy red-ribbons wave-to-the-people-on-national-day Media-retardedness stuff, so I'm glad the king does that for us.

The president of the US has to worry about all these things while trying to run a country, and it seems like a very big waste of time. Also, when they become somewhat a holy figure through those rituals and events, they are even more vulnerable to getting stuck in old tracks and not being allowed to do things differently than what they did a century ago.

Still, the next election in the US is going to be awesome. Mr. ´yes we can!´ Obama who is a hot air balloon, charismatic, but also an idiot who can´t seem to do anything right, vs a fundamentalist Christian who´s far right-wing ideas are sometimes so laughably stupid that they're actually funny. They represent the American people quite well.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP
