Damn nice work. Feels like i am getting a totally new game here. :D You should really think about starting to make money from manuals. :p

No-one would pay the standard commercial rates. :p
I've probably put in 50 to 70 design hours in creating the booklet in the design phase plus another unknown number of hours research and writing over the last 15 months. Standard artwork rates on a commercial scale run from £28.00 ($45.00) per hour to £60.00 ($100) per hour. And I'd really hate to work out the hours PR has spent doing screenshots. It takes DAYS to get good screens.
I've done this in my time because it's been fun and I like a challenge, and I've learned a lot about the mod in the process, making my own campaign sessions far more interesting. And it's rewarding to put our development work in a format that's out there.
I couldn't do as good a job for someone else.

I just want to mention that Ghost has spent a huge amount of time and effort on this project and I believe that this will always be a token that future mods (and potentially canon) can look to for space/land data that PR/Ghost researched.

Why can't I view the manual pages 7, 34, or 114?

Honestly, I'm not sure. The jpegs uploaded fine to the website, but they just won't open properly. I re-exported them and tried again with the same result. Still annoying red crosses.
I'll chop them from the post. Sorry about that!

They worked for me before this was posted; they didn't work for Ghost. I don't quite understand it, but it's probably related to how they were captured/saved.

All I know is those screenshots of the pages look amazing. Looks like the manuals of old where they actually had great content....I can't wait.

Probably best to wait until it's released first.

I gotta admit i am getting antsy as well though, any etimates on v1.2 yet? I know you said we'd know a few days in advance, but it seems like an eternity.

Well friend, in that case you are fortunate, most of us have been waiting for 2 eternities. I even heard whispers of a ancient one that has been waiting for 3 eternities:ex:;)
But that is of course only a legend...

But seriously you are right the anticipation of everyone here is nearing overload levels.

Hang in there.

To you guys on the team, I have a suggestion/request: Maybe some nice new pictures would quench, for a while at least, the hot passions that are producing flames in our collective pants?

P.S. To anyone who might be offended I'm aiming for inclusive and humorous here, please don't take it the wrong way.

If you knew how long screenshots took, you probably wouldn't be asking for them! I've done two 15-hour days this week, and several more double-digit. It's exhausting. Really can't work much faster.

Hey PR and team, don't sweat it... waiting multiple eternities is a small price for us fans (nerfherders) to pay for what has moved beyond merely a mod... beyond a new game... to something more closely resembling a digital masterwork of great artistry. Sure we're all impatient, but that's just because what you've shown us of your last few years labour has us all REALLY excited. Knowing that it's so close is obviously increasing our excitement and therefore our impatience (I know I'm checking the site every day and I bet I'm not alone!), but we know great art can't be rushed, just anticipated all the more keenly!

Thank you for your efforts, we know this is a herculean task your engaged in here. I look forward to the end result!

Hey, just a question, is there going to be a beta or open beta for v1.2? Apologies if this has been asked before but just wanted to see if that is something the team here usually does prior to release.

What i meant is that you should think about starting to make manuals for games etc. As this manual really is very good and professionally made.

Thanks, but I don't have time or the inclanation for a second manual.

Writing 2 chapters has taken over a year and I can think of at least 6 more I want to add. And writing is hard work and takes a lot of research - not something I could do for someone else. Where would I find the time? - I have a job and a home life as well as this hobby?

Nice to have the vote of confidence though, but I'll save my efforts for V1.3

Either way it looks professionally done. Did not realize you guys had so many test levels already completed. I will say something, as a noob to this mod, reading osme of the older posts talking about v1.2 were over a yr ago, I'm sure they were just as excited as we were thinking it would be out any day/week and it has been months and months since. For someone like myself we just need to understand that it could still be months away from release as they want to release as complete a game as possible.

If it means anything, it's coming out this year. Sometime in mid to late December if my calender is correct.
