Some infantry weapons are now highly effective against medium vehicles. Ranger II's get a very nuce weapon upgrade that cuts Stormies in half and takes fist-sized chunks out of AT-ST's.

Medium vehicles are just that - medium armor. We have redone the whole armor system so the heavier infantry weapons can damage medium vehicle armor.

Combat brigadiers such as Tarrful should be tough. Next time take a look at his stats and look up his weapon in the end pages of the manual.

I have quick question.

Does building multiple shipyards of the same class on one planet reduce construction time?

Just as an FYI, I was conquering a planet as the Empire, and I had 5/5 units deployed, but I was still allowed to call in the one hero I had in my fleet. Is this supposed to work that way?

It is - heroes cost nothing to deploy.

I don't know if i just happen to be really good at tactical/strategic management but Core worlds was incredibly easy as the PRM

Their planets happen to be more connected than the Empire's. We'll fix it next time.

Other news: I really enjoy land combat now. The prospect of losing, and actually losing units on the ground now is exciting. Although, I think some heroes may need to be toned down a bit; the only experience I have is against Tarfful while taking Kashyyyk as the Empire. He did a nice bit of damage to my AT-ST x2 each shot.

Thank you. I knew we did something right when losses became inevitable.

The only effective counter to heroes is other heroes. Tarfful basically has a 20 mm cannon that he hauls around, so light vehicle beware.

Yes!

Heh, for such "tough" Rebel Heroes the best combo is a pair of AT-AT x4s with a unit of Shocktroopers and some "ground" heroes packed up to provide multiple support": Nahdonnis Praji, Daine Jir and Wullf Yularen (loaded onboard one or two AT-ATs, plus Freja Covell with his AT-AT (though only x3). That works pretty fine, though I haven't invaded Kashyyk so far...

BTW: am i right when I assume that if I place multiple "land commander heroes" on a planet, then all my troops get combined bonuses of all thosecommanders...?

You can't stun heroes, but I guess you could still use the Shock heavy blasters on them.

Leadership doesn't stack within a category. Praji's maneuvers, Jir's offense, and Covell's tactics stack, but Covell's morale is useless with Yularen in a battle.

Its a reason to not put all of your heroes in one basket.

OK, that's what I though - with Praji, Jir and Covell I can improve 3 aspects of my troops in battle instead of only one.

Thus Yularen will be used in another battle, maybe with Mohc and Veers when I produce him...?

BTW: is there a possibility to produce Dark Troopers under Mohc or not? It would also be nice to see Mohc in his heavy armor (dark trooper Phase 3 IIRC) - maybe that could be a suggestion to PR 1.3? (in fact you could use the original "FoC vanilla" model for Dark Trooper Phase 3 as a model of Mohc on the ground...)

Yep, but IT IS also a reason to put heroes with "complementary" abilities in one basket - so they can improve different stats of my troops.

I would amend my original statement, its a reason to not put all heroes with the same leadership qualities in one basket.

Yeah, I haven't really done much of anything with hero upgrades and land yet. P3 exosuit Mohc would be good. Oh man, imagine him versus Katarn :evilthinkin:...

I was just thinking that heroes could use some land upgrades. Managed to take down Darth Vader with a pair of T4-D platoons and found the end of battle said he had the Immortal with him. Also, Darth Vader is a walking tank. I thought it quite impressive that he deflects turbolasers even. Too bad the AI left him alone.

<DevXen> Today I was at the store and saw a Darth Vader action figure that said "Choking Hazard." It was great.

The AI doesn't really know how to deploy heroes properly. That can be fixed, but not quickly.

Inner Rim is my favorite campaign so far. Mostly because it runs well, the planets aren't on top of each other, and you have to research everything. A Victory Class Star Destroyer is so good against most rebel ships.
