back on topic... the Spell Book of Moria is now done. Some polishing of FX still todo, but all spells work now! :good: There's some modeling todo, and a lot of balancing, but Moria will most likely be done before Xmas. With any luck, Erebor will follow short thereafter.

When "pulling out your rifles" I feel like it only shows where currently you stand..

Criticism seem like de-constructive..
But it is more like the truth and it comes to us even if we don't like it.

" I just run the mod's production and those that like what I'm doing help out of their own will."
You can get away with that but when I look at your signature it is claiming something else. So I'm sorry for the miss understanding cause I saw "team leader" I presumed you provided guidance, gave instructions, directions or any sort of leadership...

You can use any kind of subversion but GIT seem like the easyiest one to setup to this date...

"Don't forget to backup everything this time"

When the files are synced everyone will have his own backup. Not just one version but all the versions.
But obviously Dropbox, Google drive, Evernote or Skydrive can also do the work.

"Stuff is working smoothly at the moment, although I'll need to tell Nazgûl he should stop copying total files over from the old SEE he almost gave us a serious issue doing that..."

"I don't... I copy line by line basically. Don't know what the AI skrimish data did wrong... netiher did RG. But he did locate the crash to that file though."

Errors are a common thing but it can waist so much time just figuring out what the cause was.
With a software versioning control system you can track much quicker the errors made by the latest changes. You can compare,
if the error occured in older versions.
This also takes away any possible accusing in between the workflow.

Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself this time..

Could you be any more obnoxious? I mean, apart from the fact Naz has been here quite a bit longer than you, you could at least attempt to be respectful in your opinions and suggestions, such as maybe saying something along the lines of 'you could use this particular tool, because I find it quite useful', rather than saying that he's disorganized and that it's necessary for that reason. Just ... be polite. And if you don't like the way people do things, don't monitor them, then you'll magically find they no longer bother you.

I don't see the point that history is repeating itself at all, he learnt from his mistakes right? If he wants to use some program, then let him be, he doesn't force you to use a program he thinks is better, does he?

Yo Thorongil--just what are you talking about? Calm yourself down.

More importantly...that Moria spellbook. :thumbsupcool:
Does it have the same powers as the old SEE? Or are there some new ones thrown in?

Just to be clear, even though it is listed in the Spellbook thread, I'm afraid Abyss was not implemented in game (yet). At the moment it is too complicated to work it out the way we want it.

Thorongil is entitled to his opinion and to voice it.
When you vanish and reappear so often you have to be prepared to accept criticism for it.

Criticism is expected, however Thorongil acts as if the sole issue Nazgûl has is solvable with some different program. It however does not matter in the end what program we use, Nazgûl is the great director behind the mod, when he's gone we can't continue.

Expect critisism??? OR, we could just all grow the fugg up and realize that this is a friggin HOBBY for christ sake, and not a JOB, nor is it a responsibility. I am NOT here to be critized for what I do, and I'm not here to deliver something promised. If people have a problem with me or the mod, go elsewhere and leave us alone. I'm not interested in listening to negativism or to be corrected when I reply to it Rad. That's far from constuctive for a mod progress. How many mods see it to the finish line? Not many. And what is the reason for that? Well it's hardly from lack of critisism, is it?

I do NOT wanna go into another forum clash over this. Especielly not since former "enemies" have finally become friends. Either people like what we do, or people don't. NOTHING good will come from being obnoxious and disrespectful, claiming to know the errors of others. Thor don't know, me, and I don't know him. And he's not been involved in this mod's production at any stage, so what does he know about the problems we've had?. We don't NEED another repo system - Tortoise SVN works FINE, thank you very much.

Now can we go back to having fun, instead of feeding this bickering...

And before more people decide to take a stand in this unnescessary debate, lemme be clear about something: It is my STRONG beleif that modding should be FUN, and INSPIRATIONAL. That means I beleive you should be positive, supportive and encouraging to projects you fancy. If you don't feel positive about the project, leave it be and leave it to its destiny. Who's to judge others - UNLESS they ask for it. Like "What do you guys think of this mod idea?", "...this model?", "...this coding solution?", etc. Why rain on anybodys parade, unless they ask for rain? Now, let this pointless topic die and we'll get back to what matters; Mod's progress. Moria faction is 90-95% done. Mostly polishing left... :trickydick:

Not exactly the most eloquent way of putting it, but I think that's probably the most accurate description of modding ever. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a release on this, after seeing the great stuff this mod's got to offer.

Thanks =) Those who know me, knows that I'm not exactly famous for being tolerant of critisism. I realize that I've often come across as being impolite myself, which is not my intention. I just think that spontanious critisism is demoralizing and anti-constructive, unless called for. So I'd prefer if people could just try to be positive and supportive against eachother. It's not a competition and it's not a job or obligation. IN this particular case though, I'm no exactly sure what this Thor wants with this campaign for GIT? :whatoa:

I don't wanna play internet police. I just feel that this thread has been derailed and is way off topic. Shouldn't a moderator have stepped in and... I dunno, politely asked it to be put back on topic. Honestly I just wanna move on.
