Sorry. Don't like consoles. And I really don't want to be sued by WB, like they did with the poor MERP guys.

And yeah, your idea about Jack is quite interesting - mixing AC with LANoire -, however, somehow I feel that it would be a tremendous amount of work - considering we're aiming for the same interrogations/facial expressions used in LA Noire. It's too complex for a first game start.

kudos to Pasidon for this awesome avvy and siggy!

We can cross off any LotR-related ideas right from the start. WB owns the rights to make games based on both the books and the movies. Let's not discuss this, it's pointless.

And I agree that the idea about Jack the Ripper is too complex.

How about we make an inventory of what we can actually do before we start debating ideas?

It is a fun concept. That's why Assassin's Creed based their multiplayer around the concept.

Oh, and it's fine to figure out what we would like to make, then take the components of what we think we can do from them.

Sorry. Don't like consoles. And I really don't want to be sued by WB, like they did with the poor MERP guys.

Stop being so ef'ing amazing, Gen. Sake... You make me blush sometimes. You're like the most awesome person I know. Whenever I see someone on the streets, I point in the distance and say, "That's him. He's the guy." And they understand. I'd kiss you right on the mouth if they didn't ban me from Jamaka.

That's fine if you don't like consoles, but you can't just ignore such a large market. Its there, its not going away and there are a lot of players willing to buy content if its priced right and has great quality.

You also can't ignore harder markets to market to and more limitations to what we're doing. PC gaming. It's the pimp.

Regarding consoles: I don't have any. We all have PCs. You guys might want to stop bickering about concepts and markets and first decide what it is we can do.

We're not in a rush here. It's good to figure out what our market is, and other things. But yea, I can make pictures and write things. Sort of relying on more people to actually have coding skills and other things here since some suggestions have been... erm... not simple sounding.

Well, I can do 3d stuff - working on my animation side. Obviously I could also get my lazy ass and learn some Unity.

I'd recommend trying to create a character, animate it and put him into unity, the finished classes for that should be relatively intuitive.

Why not start with some concepts and prototypes.
Unity is good for that, play around with an idea and see how it grows the best ideas are typically organic and evolve from the something small.

My idea is quite simple: Revora Kart.
A Mario Kart clone with Revorian characters. But instead of General Power boxes, each driver would gain access to an specific power accordingly with the avatar chosen.
example: One of Pasidon's powers would be the Rage Hammer, but no other player would gain acess to this power, and ect.

Wacky Races Revora Edition.

It could be a fun game to set us in the right path.

That would be hilarious, and while it might not do well outside Revora, I think it would get us going in the right direction, as well as getting more initial support in Revora because it's about Revora.

I forget the name of it, but a small group just like us designed a kart game for 8 years, and it didn't turn out so hot. Let's just hope it was their own incompetence and not actually because game design hard.

Well this is all good, for me anyway, since I'm recognizing what the majority of us would like to see.

haha, it sounds like a casual idea indeed :p

Though I wonder how well it would do with all the copyrighted avatar stuff we keep in here. We might have to generalize the avatars enough to be a original ip :)

Yeah! Pas was working on the Grand Revorian Portrait.
He should finish it, so we can use as Concept Art.

Also, he should be responsible for the concept arts, ect.
If you guys want, I can create the Project Forum, so we can all brainstorm our first little game project.

Don't shoot down ideas in here, keep them coming fast and loose. Revora Kart is an interesting concept, it would probably not be called that in the end, but I had a ton of game-design thoughts when it was mentioned...
