I hardly have modded maps ever so I'm a noob: I want to edit the terrain so I can see the delimited cells for offsetting buildings and units, much like in the option to show grids in SHP Builder.
Where can I find these overlays(?) and what else do I have to edit?

You know, FinalAlert 2 map editor has a mode called framework mode which temporarily changes the terrain displayed into more grid-like and so on. Can be toggled on/off by clicking the icon in top toolbar with green-pink-blue geometry featured on it. If that's not accurate enough for you to get which icon I mean, just hover your mouse cursor over them until you find one that says 'Switch Framework Mode' in it's tooltip.
