Are these questions really related to forshires online edition?

However, this might help --> http://forshire.blog...feat-fixer.html

Has anyone been able to download BFME on a Mac?  I have a 2013 mac book pro with retina.  I have parallels installed, paid $80 to play this one game.  However I can't get it to work after downloading the game on windows 8.1 (free trial).  When I try to open "the battle for middle-earth online edition.exe" it switches my screens around and exits me out of parallels.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try to install from an unmodified installation source, eg the original setup as it was sold by EA.

Im having similar trouble installing the online edition in emulated envs.

I've had it installed on my older mac, but I had to partition the hard drive and install windows and BFME, but it wouldn't work through parallels because the program was too big.  Also I would like to be able to go back and forth from mac to windows without shutting down the mac side and starting up in windows.  I noticed that someone said you could play BFME on Game Ranger, is that true?  Or is there anyway to play it on Steam?

No, there is no way to play it via Steam. You can use gameranger, but we have our own bfme online server that brings back the EA experience (not all features yet, but you should check it out ;))

But thats not your installation problem ;)

I have no experience with parallels, but you could try wine for mac, eg winebottler. BFME1 is supported by wine.

I can install standard BFME in VirtualBox without any problems so it should also work in Parallels (which says nothing about the performance, but in Parallels it might be okay).

There's also the possibility that someone created a Wineskin wrapper for it already.

Try setting the shortcut to Windows XP service pack 2 compatibility mode.

Did you install the t3a client ontop of forshires online edition? That wont work, as it is already included. Just reinstall the online edition.

Welcome ;)

Use the status checker to see who is online --> http://online.the3rdage.net/

Most activity during european afternoons/nights, but you wil probably find someone to play at most times when you host a game and wait a bit (dont forget to maximize your game from time to time ;))

And the bfme2 server is being worked on.. so much for that.

Most games are currently being played on patch 1.05, available here: http://www.the3rdage...tem-779?addview

Note that it requires 1.03.
