Just ...get... RotWK some other way. If you don't know what I mean, PM me.

Concerning gmax/renx, those programs are *very* old and largely unsupported on modern operating systems. If you want to learn to mod (well, the art side of things), ...get... 3ds max 7 or 8. All of our tutorials apply to these as well.

As for coding, FinalBIG will work on your PC. If it doesn't, you're a-doin' it wrong, I think. If you want to learn to code, there's a bunch of good starting tutorials on our site.

And a lot more tutorials for more specific things.

If you want this game changed to meet your ideas, you're going to have to learn. But don't be afraid because learning to mod is a lot of fun and isn't all that difficult. We will be able to help you with any and all questions. Just make a thread in the BFME2/RotWK modding forums.

Also before you start have some ideas laid out, more than just a vague notion of what you want in a faction.

You'll need a tech tree with units, heroes, buildings, spells and upgrades and costs and balancing for all of these.

As for donating these ideas to another mod team they aren't really revolutionary ideas and some mods already cover the Elven factions (I think there are far too many Elf faction mods out there).

As mentioned by the others if you want to learn modding just jump straight in, read some tutorials to start but you'll learn most of you need from good ol' trial and error.

The more you error the more you learn.

You can get ROTWK if you really need want/need as a torrent. Just be careful of viruses and malware.

Also, what OS are you on if you can't run modding programs?
