Poll: BFME2 Patch 1.09 - Menu Poll

Should the BFME2 community patch remove the game's iconic menu (green theme, Argonath, soothing music) in favor of its own design?

The question is simple:

Should a patch like the upcoming BFME2 patch remove the classic BFME2 menu and replace it with its own theme and style, or should a patch only concern itself with addressing actual game issues (balance, bug fixes, modest visual improvement)? In other words, is changing the game's iconic menu an appropriate change for a patch to make, or is it overly indulging and changing things purely for the sake of changing them (something that should instead be considered a mod)?

I'm not sure; if you can make a more awesome shell map then I will vote for yes ;).

Patches should be minimal, only focusing on necessary changes to improve and correct improper game play, so the consumer can enjoy it. There should not be a bunch of overhead additions that simply create more potential fault points, as well as drag out production. While I suppose that's a bit contradictory considering we also introduced a visual update to the units, that is justified because it was sorely needed.

I would say changing the menu is a tad too far.

Yes, that is my view also. I think changing the menu is a bad decision.

Balancing = perfect

Recreating / restoring existing textures to higher-quality versions = awesome

Replacing and adding random unneeded stuff = stupid, unnecessary, fits the preferences of one person (most often one person alone).

I can't say I'm the biggest fan of BFME(2), but the existing menu is pretty awesome.
