RA3 Launch issue

Game: Red Alert 3: Command and Conquer version 1.12

Error:   "Unable to launch Red Alert 3"

operating system: win 10

my windows account status: admin

another problem: no "run as admin" option when right click  "C&C Online"

 

 

those Chinese in the attach file translated into  something closed to "the system is unable to find the designated path" 

 

 

Your game's installation directory has been wrongly set to "$INSTDIR\" (which is not a valid path).

Try to reinstall your game, and (only if it's a cracked game) please don't use cracked games.

You can also edit manually your installation path using the Registry Editor (Write "regedit" in the start menu search bar), then navigate to 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Red Alert 3

And manually edit the value of "Install Dir".

For some reason my > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Red Alert 3 

was completely empty. Like, the entire folder had nothing in it at all. Some other forums here suggested deleting and reinstalling the game, so i'll be doing that in a moment.

If you do that, be sure to uninstall the game from Windows Control Panel - Programs and Features. That should help to remove bad System Registry entries that you have.

I have changed the "Install Dir" to the one with a real RA3.exe inside

additional info, my RA3 was originally 1.00 and I patched it to 1.12 manually.

the "$INSTDIR" is only the folder with patch.

 

 

 

I'm pretty sure that your installation path isn't "红警3-102244584\", normally you need to add the drive letter inside the path. For example, it should be "C:\Program Files\xyz" instead of "Program Files\xyz".
