Here are just some ideas for possible mission(s).

1) A mission where you are going to be attacked, but you do not have the forces to defend. But your surroundings are filled with experimental unpiloted units that you can claim before the timer for the attack arrives. The success of you defending the attackers depends on how many units you can claim during the given allotted time.

2) Have a mission X where you need to choose to destroy one of three (or two, four, etc) things due to time constraints. The option that you choose to destroy is what will be nullified the following mission X+1. Therefore this allows you to put in the campaign index mission X, and three more mission X+1 (a), (b) and © where (a), (b), and © depends on what you destroyed in mission X.

Making missions X+1 (a), (b) and © is easier to do than making 3 separate missions because only one minor thing gets changed in each of the choices. I'm sure fans of this game like myself will play all 3 options both in mission X and X+1. This makes it for much longer game time and also less work for the mission makers.

3) One or more of the following

i) A mission where it is impossible to navigate by ship or by ground units. Only air units can get through the terrain and assault the enemy.

ii) A mission where your air units (or vehicles, or infantry) are not allowed.

iii) A mission where power plants are not working.

4) A mission where the computer is building units and attacking. You get limited number of support units and you attack while your computer ally is attacking and being a meat shield for you. If you don't help your computer ally carefully he will die due to enemy assault as the enemy is stronger than your computer ally without your help. Consequently you will lose.

it can be an introduction mission for the megalodon, keep in mind that Tsurugi's prototype needed a pilot, maybe the first megalodons needed pilots.

I'd like to see the Allies in their literal Finest Hour, where everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Whatever cataclysm happens to Russia occurs, and see where the Comrade General's decisions wind him or her up, and I'd really like to see more happen with China, perhaps actually play them (the brown-tan China, not Yunru's personal division), and have something happen to them, since they'd been fighting the RoC, dealing with the fact Yunru "betrayed" them, and now...they have to fight Epsilon alone since the Sino-Russo pact was broken twice.

Kinda thinking of a remake of Clones Down Under (Allied YR Mission 05).. It may be a Foehn Campaign??

Also, I still don't know if there'll be a remake of Head Games?

Still, what is this Reptoir?

On number 1: The Device is outputting so much energy that it's melting the icecap of the Antarctic, which is destructive to the environment. And of course there are all the toxic infestation, like that caused in Spain after the brute invasion.

Well we don't know exactly when Foehn started. Maybe it was after Dragonstorm when the Chinese captured Volkov, because Yunru could have analyzed his designs at that time. At this time, Yuri disappeared into the moon. Epsilon was hiding in the shadows, waiting to return to the world. So this could be when the Foehn perspective begins.

Then again, the answer could be as simple as: Yunru and proto-Foehn didn't trust Yuri from the beginning of Act 1.

We really need more Foehn origins to explain all this shit. Maybe a Covert-Ops or Co-op in the future could be a flashback mission?

Foehn uses powersuits and cybernetics because they're suppose to be limited in numbers. They're trying to compensate for this by making each man worth an entire squad of conventional soldier.

That being said, it'd be rad if Act 3 took place in a dystopian wasteland.

IMHO, there should not be any other factions, at least not within current MO Lore. That would cause too much deviation from the original YR Line + distinction between the factions would began to disappear. (Think of 20+ nations of AoE2 etc.)

If Reptoir is a faction or something like a placeholder for a possible future faction, who they are going to fight against ? Foehn civil war ? Evolution of Foehn in case they fail to defeat Epsilon ? Fallout like survivors community ?

To be honest I really love Foehn and appreciate all the effort that was put in it. But I would also like to feel the references to the original RA+YR. If any more factions are going to be included, there should be a new spin-off universe independent from MO, I think.

I think if it will be a thing, it will be a story-only faction.

I believe MO has deviated way too much with Foehn introduction. A faction thats NOD/GDI 3rd tib.war tech level (Without tiberium !) cannot leave the world unmarked unless they and Epsilon (Which also has world changing tech) manage to eradicate all the traces of themselves in some way.

I don't think the Meisters care, because from the get go, Act 2 and up were never going to be any sort of remake or retelling or alternate version of Yuri's Revenge, but a completely new story. So it doesn't matter at all where it goes, what changed, all that. It was supposed to be completely new.

Certainly got that impression from the comment that Speeder gave during Insomnia:

"Just because it takes place in the Antarctic doesn't mean it's a remake of Brain Dead."

And then a short while after that, Speeder said these statements on his Twitter:

"Just because 'Insomnia' takes place in the Antarctic does not mean it's loosely based on or it's a remake of 'Brain Dead'. This applies to many other #MentalOmega Act Two missions."

"Act One remade the #RedAlert2 story, Act Two is its own thing."

Mental Omega was always gonna be its own thing from Act Two onwards so why are people complaining?

Edit: If anything, it's more of a remake of MO 2.0 only without the time travel...

People are not "complaining", please take the time to read the posts properly. Act Two is indeed it's own thing, but still gathered around the same old factions of RA2/YR + Foehn and still based on their original struggle with the unique approach of Mentalmeisters and should be kept within this concept. Thus, Foehn is not completely alien to RA2 Lore as it is formed by elements of Allies and Soviets + who knows what else...

Insomnia is indeed not based on Brain Dead but the whole storyline still follows the general outline and later will possibly evolve into Foehn vs Epsilon struggle. There are differences between building missions based on the previous ones and uniquely designing them based on an inspiring lore. We just don't want to "loose" our connections with this lore is all.

That being said, further factionalistation certainly would cut this connection and MO would turn into other mainstream RA2 mods that tells their own story which uses the same engine and original buildings etc. IMHO, what makes MO most popular is being the ability to "redesigning" the RA2/YR story, not ignoring it and that perfectly applies to Act 2 as well.

However, story only surprises as Solais said would not hurt anyone. But another Foehn should be a thing of another universe.

Cheers.

Basically speaking,at this point,Epsilon has only 2 subfactions now-PsiCorps and Epsilon HQ.I wonder though if Epsilon will try to fill up the void left by Malver and the Scorpion Cell by creating a new subfaction based heavily on stealth and subterfuge, albeit more technologically advanced than the Scorpion Cell.

As to Reptoir-I have a feeling they could be a neo-Epsilon utilising stuff which even the Foehn Revolt could only dream of.

If Epsilon does create a sub-faction to replace SC, I hope it's Chaos Force from 2.0. In a companion story I'm working on for MO, one of the characters working for Epsilon establishes an R&D facility in Karelia. His forces become known as "Chaos Force" due to the technologies they are developing, including an upgraded Irkalla. Unfortunately for Chaos Force, their existence is short-lived because the Foehn Revolt uses their MADMAN prototype to destroy the research facility.

If their is an act 3, regardless of who wins in act 2, I would like to see the missions based around post-war conflicts. Not a full scale war, but skirmishes between factions and even some internal skirmishes. If Epsilon loses, what next? Maybe a mini-campaign where you play as China and roll through the USSR.

All stories must end at one point, there's not always a "what's next".

Now that would be great.

Well, completely dumping the all-out war vibe won't help-at some point or the other, the conflict will become bilateral, between Epsilon and Foehn. The other factions-if at all they are existing after Hamartia,Death's Hand and Babel-will most likely have been inducted into the Revolt by this time.It is very unlikely that there will be any independent stragglers in Act 3.

I'm honestly hoping that Epsilon loses. I know that it's implied that the story is building to an epic Allied fail, Libra activating the MO Device, Yuri getting killed in Moscow, and the Foehn leading a rebellion against the Epsilon Empire. If Epsilon wins, I hope its with an expectation subversion. I mean, Malver did survive the events of Obsidian Sands....
