Ok, so I've not found a similar thread and this issue has bothered me for some time...
To put it simple, the mumakil DEATH_1 flag looks like this:

However, the DEATH_2 and DEATH_3 flags make the skeleton object purple/pink or w/e that color is, as if no texture was found for it:

I checked and double checked the code, but it seems fine. The big question mark popped up when I checked the used textures of the models; they're the same. So there's no reason why one of the two ends up purple while the other remains fine.
It doesn't make a difference whether the mumakil is veteran or not:

In vanilla BFME, this bug does not exist. So I replaced my mods' Mumakil with the vanilla mumakil; but it was still purple. I started vanilla BFME with my asset.dat (instead of the original asset.dat) and it was not purple. The only logical conclusion to me is that there's some piece of code that causes this. But only for DEATH_2 and DEATH_3. I replaced my gamedata.ini with the vanilla gamedata.ini, changed nothing.
This bug occurs with both -mod command and without -mod command. If anyone has any hints as to what could cause this, I would appreciate it a lot! Let me know if you need more information.
I can (almost certainly) rule out:
- asset.dat: Because it works for DEATH_1 which uses the same textures as the others... apparently
- The Mumakil.ini file itself: I replaced the MordorMumakil of my mod with the vanilla one and it was still purple
